Eye on the Cross, The Greatest Love

This week, Jews  as well as Christians all over the world remember the same occasion, but the institution of which were separated by some centuries. For the Jews, the Passover  was deliverance from slavery from Egypt, and the miraculous crossing of the Red Sea. For the Christians, on this occasion, at the Passover meal, the Messiah Jesus made a new covenant that was sealed in His suffering and death. This covenant delivered believers from their sins, past, present and future and gave them eternal life,

Messiah Yeshua was the spotless Lamb that died so that  people might be saved, (refer my last blog, please). But what a terrible death, hung with nails in hands and feet on 2 pieces of wood,  lifted up for people to gawk at. It was known to be such a cruel death that the Romans who invented this, would not let any of their own countrymen be punished this way, only for those conquered by them, the Jews. So the cross on which God in human form died, became a symbol of the greatest hope. Through it, people have access to relationship with the Almighty God.

This morning the offering song is so apt and beautiful, the chorus went:

He chose to die, His life He gave

The Father’s will, the Son obeyed.

He chose to die, sin’s ransom pay

He chose to die that all might live.

But Glory!  3 days later, the Messiah rose from the dead .  He showed He had power over physical death, also  power over spiritual death.  Halleujah!  (Praise the Lord).

The tomb could not hold Him, *He is Alive, Not dead! **

That is why I love this phrase, "I serve a Risen Savior."

Who else ever offered His life so that others might live?  GOD IS LOVE, DEMONSTRATED BY THE MOST CRUEL DEATH, RESULTING IN THE GREATEST HOPE !!
