A Feast for Celebration and Joy !!

Today is the end of the week-long Festival of Tabernacles or Succot: This festival is still kept by Jewish people all over the world. The origin is found inbook of  Leviticus .###Leviticus 23:33-35 The Festival of Tabernacles33 The  Lord said to Moses, 34 “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the Lord’s Festival of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for seven days.  The first day is a sacred assembly; do no regular work.###This is to be a time of celebration and rememberance of the time the people had moved from slavery in Egypt through the desert into the land of Canaan. In their time of wandering, they lived in tents/booths, also called tabernacles, God was with them and they were looked after  with water and food, and neither their clothes nor their sandles wore out. Another very important point is that many believe this season is also the time that Jesus was born. Of course Dec 25 is the dayto remember that the Son of God was born as a baby.(Historically, the church had not always been correct!)  No one knows the actual day, but from calculation of the time of the birth of John,( later dubbed, the Baptist) the son of Elizabeth, it is clearly recorded that when Elizabeth was with-child in the 6th month, Mary had a visitation from an angel and was told she would bear the Messiah. And I have been listening to some traditional carols the last 2 days!! Set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 所 以 , 你 們 若 真 與 基 督
