As usual I can’t seem to keep up...

Wow hello all,

First I apologize for not writing more often as I promised I would .... but so much has been happening ... my family was in town, I got married, just about everything and anything that was major in my life happened in the last two months! So there you have it, I am now a happily married man. :-)

We just got back from an amazing Honeymoon in Thailand. So now I suppose it is back to the grind.

I haven’t done much for the ANIMAX channel in a while, sorry about that - Who knows maybe the winds will change and I will get another show there. I am, however, involved in a few productions for India’s POGO Channel. I was just in two Ultraman films and am working on the very long but very silly “The Gutsy Frog” series.

I am still in Hong Kong and I am still working in voice over - though not as much lip sync lately.

So What happened?

Well we finished dubbing “The Warlords”. It was a great adventure since I was responsible for all the extra’s that day ... we had to make crowds of thousands and fill in all the smaller roles left in the film. So I brought around 20 talent into the studio and we had a blast - yelling and screaming and carrying on.

The producers had decided to do something quite interesting with this film and went with casting the English version with Hong Kong local actors - with that in mind casting the extra’s was a challenge ... finding actors whose English is up to par is harder than one might think ... so .. in the end ... MY Family-in-law came out to help! They all speak English and wanted to see what I do ... so they all came in ... Them mingled with the professional actors I hired made a great sound!

On another note my wedding is less than a month away! Time is getting short!

Voice Overs, scrīpt Writing, and Love

So it’s been a while since I last logged on, how are you all doing? I just upgraded my setup to Pro Tools 7.4 and I am excited that I have added a couple new credits to my voice over list. I am now Voicing Promo’s on the POGO Channel and for Cartoon Network SEA ... Also I just voiced the new Lexus LS460 TV Commercial - Which as soon as I can get my hands on that recording I’ll be happy to share. ;-)

In addition to VO I also have been voicing a new Cartoon series / Rehashed from the old 1972 series “The Gutsy Frog” / I play the characters “Dougie”, “Biff Greco”, and a few other one offs.

Also I have had a chance at writing this series ... It is all original content based on the 1972 visuals / basically we threw out the orig. scrīpt and are remaking this cartoon. It’s pretty neat stuff. My Eps are 4, 10, 16, and 22 so far. Also these past two months I wrote and acted in the English Dub of the film “Protoge” - I played “Dan Wu’s” Character - and recently I wrote the dubbing scrīpt for “Warlords” the Chinese epic Ching Dynasty war film. Today I have a casting to play one of the three leads ... I hope I get in that one. ;-)

Last but most certainly not least, I just realized my wedding is less than 2 months away ... the countdown is on people - T minus 45 days! whee! I can’t wait.

In the dubbing studio

This is one of the studios we work in ... It’s amazing how much it keeps the noise out, considering it’s in an industrial building. so all the “booms” and “thunks” and heavy rolling object noises are filtered out somehow. I think that’s just neat!

More Coaching ... More Dubbing

Hey all! So, it's been awhile since my last blog entry ... a lot has happened since then! ;-) I am now happily running my own company, Red Angel Media Limited ... check us out at www.redangelmedia.com. So, "I Come with the Rain" has come and is almost gone ... but during it's stay here in Hong Kong, I had the opportunity to coach a wonderful local actor - Shawn Yu - better known by his Chinese name Yu Man Lok. He is a real down to earth guy, and it's nice to work with actors as serious about their craft as he is. I hope to work with him again in the future! -pics to come soon! promise. ;-) Other news: I am the Voice of NAT GEO WILD Channel - which is something I am quite proud of. I love watching documentaries, and have been a fan of their for quite some time ... That's all for now ... Hope the world is treating you all well. Russell Wait
