I would like to say - Thank you to all my amazing fans who have found my page on YouTube and made so many wonderful comments. It really means a lot to me. :-)

Two weekends ago I went with the PMPS record label to Guangzhou, China to do a kick off concert for their tenth year anniversary. It was a lot of fun! I was roped into being the video guy, and wound up backstage video taping all the pre-show nerves, jitters, and excitement. I had to turn the footage over though, so I hope they cut some of it together and maybe any fans of theirs will get to see it on their official pages... (I put a couple pics in my gallery)

Today I voiced the September line-up for NAT GEO WILD and also just finished voicing a spot for VIVA MACAU airlines...

    In other news ...

If you haven’t seen it I totally recommend you watch “HOME”. It’s on YouTube and it’s important and it’s beautiful, so if you get a chance and you have a spare hour and a half - watch it.

    Howdy,

So I’m sitting at my desk scrīpting an episode of Ninja Boy. Which will wind up somewhere in Time Warner land though I don’t know exactly where. They seem to enjoy keeping us in the dark about these things.

I finished dubbing my role in Zorori last month and I am glad that’s over. That was a hard dub. Lots of screaming, prat falls and toilet humor. Not that there’s anything wrong with those things, it’s just a bit hard on the ol’ voice. Zorori was a also kind of a tough role for me as I haven’t played that type of comic lead in a while, and it was a bit difficult to “find” him right away. I feel that I eventually got there though. :-)

Overall I think the team did a pretty good job with it, but as I don’t know where it’s going to air I guess I’ll never be able to judge the final product. --

If anyone does see it, I wouldn’t mind hearing some feedback.

    Have a great day,

    Russell

Hello Hello! How are ya’ll doing out there? I hope this economic tsunami (as they’re calling here in Hong Kong) is not affecting you all too badly ... For me, I can count myself lucky as I am about to begin playing a role in the show entitled Zorori .. No news as to where it’s going to air or be otherwise distributed but if I, or any of the little elves out there collecting information or me, find out I will let you all know! ;-)

  • A new direction...

    Hey there,

Been about two months since my last blog entry ... I have been VERY busy directing not one but two great series for the Animax Channel. The first one is an interesting collection of traditional Japanese horror ... “Ayakashi”. This is certainly not a family show, do not let the little ones watch this as it is pretty darn dark! There are three tales in this eleven episode collection and each one is as strange and freaky as the next. The first one is the cursed origin tale of Lady Oiwa ... the popular female Japanese ghost with the deformed eye ... yes we are all familiar with that creepy ghoul .. and this story is guaranteed to have your skin crawling. The next story is a rather odd tale of a group of hot female forgotten gods and their fateful encounter with mankind ... The third tale is in my opinion the most interesting of the three. A vivid kaleidoscope of colors and detailed backdrops surround an equally complex story centering around a dark family secret and a visiting medicine seller cum exorcist. Really if you miss the first two make a point of watching “Bake Neko” - it will leave you breathless.

Other voice actors in Ayakashi are “Henry Coombs, Michael Brooks, Simon Broad, Antonia Shevloff, and Kathy Robinson” ... Hope you enjoy the show as much as we enjoyed working on it! :-)

The second series I am working on is called xxxHolic and any fan of the CLAMP world will know it is a wonderful series. Fans of the Mokona will be happy to see the black Mokona standing faithfully at the side of Yuko the witch. This is a fun series mainly concerned with a young man by the name of Watanuki Kimihiro ... nothing real special about him except that he can see ghosts and other weird supernatural goop, Oh and all that goop seems to want to eat him all the time. The main story centers around Watanuki’s relationship with Yuko. There is a side story of his crush on Kunogi Himawari and his rivalry with the level headed Domeki - who always seems to save Watanukis’s neck at the last second. ... I see this story as a coming of age story. A story that deals with teenage angst and life questions wrapped up in a supernatural analogy. All things said and done xxxHolic is a story that I really have enjoyed working on!

Other voice actors in xxxHolic are “Colin Shevloff, Antonia Shevloff, Lili Truncale, Catherine Fu, Shari Diaz, and Jack Murphy”

And last but not least I have laid my director’s hat down and landed the role of Demon Eyes Kyo in the show Samurai Deeper Kyo! It looks great and I am looking forward to once again unleashing my darker side .... ;-)

    Till next time,

    RW

  • Ookiku Furikabutte or THE BIG WIND UP

    Tuesday, Jul 1, 2008 4:18PM / Members only

    Hey everybody,

Good to be voicing on Animax again. I landed the role of Abe Takaya in the hit series Ookiku Furikabutte. I hope you all enjoy my performance as much as I enjoyed working on it.

Abe is an interesting character who seems to be caught between being manly and being sensitive. Especially when dealing with his nervous wreck of a pitcher. He has to learn to be strong and sensitive to take advantage of Mihashi’s (The Pitcher) great pitching potential.

It’s really nice to see Abe act like a big brother - even peer counselor - for Mihashi - and as a result help bring him out of his terrified shell of shy self consciousness. Indeed this series captured High School sports and friendships quite well and we may find ourselves hearkening back to our own days in High School ... :-)

    Anyhow - Enjoy the show!

    Play Ball!!!!
