Sitting at the Village Cafe in Xi'an. Post-production on a documentary is a long process. When you are trying to get 36 hours of footage from six countries into a 20 minute piece that is. Mark is here too -- studying Chinese and getting some work done online. Plan to blog more and more. There's lots to write about. Who better to share with than my fellow artists on alivenotdead? For now a memory from India --

(at the Barli Institute for Rural Women listening to the early morning voices of students on their way to class)

Ok so seriously. Me, an official artist? My first thought was now I really have to work hard to prove myself worthy. My second thought? Cool.
One of the projects I'm working on is with Mona Foundation (www.monafoundation.org)... It took me to six countries and prep started about a year ago. While I was looking for some pics to post (awesome pics to be found at www.narom.net) -- I came across this piece of artwork -- with a bit of a Star Wars influence, anyone know its origin?

My mom's book is here! Check this out!
The Last Aloha
"Gaellen Quinn’s first novel explores the shifting tides of loyalty and
passion in late 19th century Honolulu. With a sharp eye for detail and
what one feels is a very good ear –or at least a very convincing one–
for the cadences and tones of both the haole and Hawaiian aristocracy
of that period, Quinn offers a tale of discovery and intrigue that
holds the reader’s interest almost from the first page." -- Honolulu Weekly Book Review

You might have to cut and paste this link -- but with any luck you can also click on it to learn more!
Thank you!

I met a sculptor today. He said we are the art. So here's a piece. A small and humble contribution. With love.
Looking to the future and living in the present.

(No starfish was harmed in the making of this blog entry... this one made it back into the ocean...)
