I moved from Brooklyn, New York to LA 2 years ago.  I was one of those Manhattanites who never ventured into Brooklyn while I was attending NYU.  However, once I graduated, since the housing was cheaper, I moved to Boreum Hill, Brooklyn, right near downtown and I fell in love with the place.   I miss hearing the ice cream truck rolling down the street in the summer and kids playng in the middle of the street with the fire hydrant on...spraying water everwhere and onto on coming traffic....(wish I had a photo of that!) These are some photos I took right before I moved...

renee, i can really see a style here that i love, which is the "gauzy" thing - did i ever tell you i wanted to do exactly that for a film once? it was modelled after a corot painting where there were cottony looking trees in the foreground, really gauzy
