Ok, so today is kind of a fluke.

October SPEAK UP!

Hey AnD!

First off, we here at E.V.E.N.T. would like to congratulate Hong Kong as a whole, for really stepping up the creative scene here in the past few months. With companies like Alive not Dead, monthly events like Pimpin Aint Easy and SPEAK UP!, we have seen a real improvement in the city we all love to hate.

Keeping up with the US Elections..

Well I was in the US for the past few weeks, and have a couple of hundred pictures to go through before I can post anything. In the meantime, I leave you with the latest from the US elections..

Big Ideas (Dont Get Any...)

Radiohead held an online contest to remix "Nude" from their album - "In Rainbows" This was quite a difficult task for everybody that entered, as Nude is in 6/8 timing, and 63bpm. Most music that's played in clubs is around 90 - 130bpm and usually 4/4 timing. It's pretty difficult to seamlessly mix a waltz beat into a DJ set.

This resulted in lots of generic entries consisting of a typical 4/4 beat, but with arbitrary clips from "Nude" thrown in so that they qualified for the contest.Read more
