红顶雀 - Redpoll is a six piece mandarin folk rock band known for it abstract and eccentric songs written by primary-singer songwriter and guitarist Sam Ng.
Redpoll's rhythmical musical styles incorporate the elements of folk and rock with translative emotions. Lyrical inspirations are drawn from Crescent Society poets in the late 1920s to modern poet like 夏宇.
The band was originally formed in late 2005 with some vivid performances before the withdrawal of the forerunners. Since then, the band have been constantly changing their lineup, searching for committed members.
In late 2008, the band's lineup has been concreted. This new incarnation aims to share with anyone, their unique brand of music.
