Not all men are as you say, in defense of them, however, you must realize that men love differently on a general basis. In my case I just went through a nasty divorce, and she took my son, and I lost everything as well. So in my regard it is not so much getting over her as it is getting past the anger and hate she left behind, and the ache of not being able to see my son. I too am unafraid of jumping into things, but because of that person who hurt me as bad as she did, I am cautious about approaching any woman for a relationship...even friendship. I am a trusting man for the most part and I believe in the genetal good nature of people, but when someone wrongs us that badly, it takes time. Not meant to make you suffer for example, but it is an ongoing process of living and learning, and picking up the pieces that was once my life. If a man hurts a woman, it is hard for them to get over it. And vice versa. Especially if you did nothing wrong to warrant lies, betrayal, infidelity and pain. There is a lot to be said for a man who can move on. But again, for some, if not all of us, it takes time. Granted it would hurt you to a degree, but thats where patience, communication, understanding, support and sacrifice comes into play. The rest is much easier once the above hurdles are passed.

You're both so right... but then again, I guess it depends on who ends a relationship. It is always much easier to break up if you're the one who decides to do that. It's not so easy when the decision is made by the other person.
