Spring 2009:

I was invited by 赵本山 himself to participate to the first opening of his new theatre in Beijing in May. I can’t tell how happy I was to be there… We had dinner with numerous stars (such as 小沈阳, 姜文, 葛优, 那英, 成龙, 曾志伟, 张艺谋, 冯小刚, 郭德刚 and many others) and it’s a night I will never forget… Thanks to my big brother and friend: 博比肯!

Spring 2009:

We almost made it to 2009’s 春节晚会… This performance was supposed to put together 62 crosstalk actors on 春节晚会’s stage. It was a risky challenge and the director (马东) had a lot to do. Even though we didn’t make it to the 晚会 itself (at the very last CCTV check), I keep great memories of the rehearsals we had with all these crosstalk masters (丁广泉, 姜坤, 冯巩, 常宝华, 大山 and so many others). I definitely met a lot of good people there!

Spring 2007:

I was invited by BTV to the launching of "The Disciple"... I had the opportunity to meet Jackie Chan and a lot of other actors... It's really an unforgettable day!

Autumn 2008:

I took these pictures on the set of the movie Gasp (气喘吁吁) for which I worked 2 days… Actually it was 2 nights in a row and it was pretty exhausting but it was a great experience as well. I had the opportunity to work with John Savage (The Deer Hunter, The Godfather 3) and 刘桦 (Crazy Stone) who are both very nice guys! I also met with 2 other China-based actors (Alex and John) with whom I had some fun and Warren who mainly works in Taiwan. The Director (郑重) and the crew were great and I hope I’ll have the opportunity to work with them again… I can’t wait to see this film!

Winter 2007:

That’s the filming of a documentary about the construction of the railway in Hebei province during the Qing Dynasty.

We didn’t spend very long there but I have great memories of this filming. The crew was great and the time we spent with the other actors was unforgettable… Especially the take where I had to tell something very seriously to Andrea (Italian actor) but we couldn’t get it right: he started laughing and it took us a lot of efforts to get through it without even smiling… The cigar I had to smoke helped a lot there: for that same scene we couldn’t get right I was supposed to smoke a cigar. It took at least an hour and a half to shoot it all so I smoked cigar for 1 hour and a half… Even now I still feel a bit sick when I think about it… Huuugh!

First job since I came back from France… It was a TV drama called “对手” where I played a US Army Colonel and had the privilege to act with 邬倩倩. She is a good and experienced actress!

French Film Festival in Beijing: "Panorama"

Spring 2007, 2008, 2009:

This is what they call “Panorama”, the French Film Festival in Beijing… I was invited again last year (2008) but it wasn’t as good as the first time… Finally this year (2009) was really great for I had the chance to do all the following things:

1- Meet with one of my favorite directors ever: Dayyan Eng (and I’m not saying that because he’s also on AND… He he! I truly like his style!)

2- Meet again with the lovely and talented actress 龚蓓苾

3- Watch a great film by Cédric Klapisch (which wasn’t his best though, but still… It’s KLAPISCH and he’s also one of my favorite directors even though he’s not on AND yet)… This film is called “Paris” and it feels a bit like “Chacun Cherche son Chat” (one of Klapish’s previous film - 1996): how to discover a city and experience different feelings through a couple of random people… Anyway, the actors are great (especially Romain Duris whose performance was really stunning, and of course: Juliette Binoche, Fabrice Luchini, Albert Dupontel, Mélanie Laurent and Zinedine Soualem… etc.)

5- Shit! I forgot number “4”!!!

6- Meet a really nice girl named Sindy… We’ll work together very soon!

7- Meet again with a friend of mine I haven’t seen in ages: director 王超…

8- Eat marshmallows directly out of the back of a charming Chinese girl… (I know it sounds weird, but try it! It feels nice!)

9- Do all this with my very good friend Luc Bendza…

It was an unforgettable evening!!! :)

Concert in 白沟

Summer 2008:

This concert was held by CCTV in 白沟 (河北) for the 第七届白沟(中国)国际箱包服装节. We had to sing a song with a couple of other foreigners in front of 20 thousand people! A great experience! I’ll never forget it!

This is the filming of a commercial for the Olympics or something like that… Actually we only spent 2 minutes in front of the camera but the make-up part took more than 3 hours… It was quite a fun day though!
