That’s the Premiere of “社区民警故事” (Community Police Story) which I was invited to last week (January 10 th)…
It was really great to meet with the crew again and I’m glad to see that everyone seemed to enjoy the film… I originally didn’t expect that much from the movie but I was very surprised, pleased and moved by it… It was a great moment!
Hope you guys will enjoy it as much as I did!
PS: I have pictures of the making of in my albums…

Here’s a film I directed with some of my students. This project was originally supposed to be a theatre play but as we were also studying about cinema at the time, we decided to turn the play into a short film. prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /
We started by watching a short cartoon so the kids would understand the story and learn the dialogues (I know, they are really easy and cheesy but it’s for 4-year-old kids!). Then, we organized a casting and rehearsed for about 2 days… After that, we only had about 10 days (and only 45 minutes per day) to shoot all the scenes. I did the editing within 3 days (which explains part of the poor quality) and here’s the result:
I know, it’s not much but we had a lot of fun during the making… What is great though, is that we organized a “premiere” at our school for all students and parents and then sold them the DVDs: all the profits went to the victims of Yushu’s earthquake. It feels great to help people while doing the thing you love… I’ll never forget this experience!
Here’s a bonus… The Bloopers:
This is just a video of me trying to juggle a couple of year ago… I haven’t changed much which makes me feel a bit better about myself…
Yup, I'm going to turn 30 very soon… :( prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /
Hi everyone, prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /
I know, I haven’t updated my profile for a long time but I was too busy to even check my mails this summer… Nah nah, I wasn’t filming or anything… In fact I was mainly doing stage work (a theatre play and a big dance show…) but I’ll tell you about it later… This summer I had to take care of my parents who came toprefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /Beijingto see my new apartment and more (pictures will follow soon)…
Anyways, here’s the most important thing I wanted to inform y’all about: I got married last month!!! Finally… After 6 years of being just a “boyfriend”, I’m now a husband (shit I feel older!)… So here are the pics of the ceremony and I’ll put more pictures (of the other stuff I’ve been doing) on AND soon…
By the way, thanks to all the people who made it to the wedding! It was a memorable day!!! Now come check our new place when you have time guys (it’s in the East of Beijing).
A couple of days ago a director called me for a future project and asked for my demo reel… I just did not have one… It sucks, I know… Anyways, I took the time I had (which was only two days) to make a short video and here’s the result. prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /
I know, it’s far from being good (actually I don’t like it at all) but once again, I only had a couple of hours to shoot the moves and the rest of the time to edit the video. I’m glad it’s done but next time I’ll be prepared: I’ll shoot a real Demo Reel and I’ll take my time to do the editing. I’ll start training again too because I hate seeing myself in such a bad shape… :(
Here’s a video of the Carlsberg commercial I shot a couple of months ago… We had a lot of fun despite the cold (yeah, we froze our asses all day on that field!).
As you can see, I was still bald because of “Empires of the Deep” but my hair has grown back now. I’m done with both films I was shooting back then and I’m now working on a couple of new different projects… I’ll let you know when anything’s signed!
NB: If you look carefully, on the very last shot you’ll see an Argentinean guy throwing a shoe at me (off screen)… Well, that shoe got me in the shoulder and I actually was bleeding after it happened… Even shooting commercials is a risky business! lol
Hope you’ll enjoy!
UPDATE: Here's another one only this time China beats Brazil!!!
(You can see me a couple of times; I'm one of the Brazilians: the bald one)
Video: http://you.video.sina.com.cn/b/26335857-1413265491.html It’s been quite a long time since I blogged… I’ve been quite busy lately, working on a few commercials, shooting and editing a short movie, teaching acting and shooting two movies at the same time:人鱼帝国and我在胡同当片警… To tell you the truth, I’m quite tired… Yet, I’m the happiest man on Earth!!! prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /
As I can’t really put recent work pictures online yet, I’ll just show you these videos I found on the net… One of them is the first episode of a series filmed by 尤小刚(猎人笔记之谜) that we did last year, the other one is the trailer of a TV series I also shot last year in Beijing ( 娶进来嫁出去). Hope you will enjoy…
Just a quick word to say that I’m back on set of the Empires of the Deep… We are now shooting in 3D (same camera as in Avatar) and I’m about to shoot the rest of my fight scenes this week… I can’t wait!!! prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /
If you want to learn a few things about the film, here’s a forum you can visit:
I’ll tell you more about it soon!
Video: http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTUwNjc3NzI4.html Here’s 3 episodes of “本地媳妇外地郎” that I shot last year… You’ll start seeing me in the end of the 1 st episode. I’m not really happy with my acting though… I wish I did better… :(
prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /
Here are the two episodes:
http://tv.sohu.com/20101002/n275401525.shtmlI found an extract of an episode:
A couple of days ago I went to the south of Beijing to work on a TV series called雪豹(snow leopard)… It was just for one episode (one-day work), but it was really a great experience! prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /
Of course I’m not talking about the weather: we were outside all day by -10°C, in the snow… The only place we could “warm” ourselves was the tiny old bus were we changed clothes and I didn’t spend long in there for I was shooting most of the time! I felt that my ears, fingers and toes were about to fall off…
Despite the cold, I literally had a lot of fun. I did wires again and… I had to fight and shoot real guns all day!!! The best thing is that my character was really cool: even though he was a Nazi (which I didn’t feel really comfortable with), he was really a strong character. In the script, he was supposed to get 20 soldiers armed with rifles into an old factory and he would shoot them all, one by one, with his handgun! He was stealth, fast, cold-blooded… Hmmm! The director made me do it in such a cool way… I can’t wait to see that episode!
Here are some of the pictures I took on set… I’m afraid I can’t reveal anything more…But I promise I’ll put more photos online after the series comes out!
By the way, I feel really bad for all the cast, the crew and the extras who are still working outside these days…prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /Beijinghas been extremely cold lately! Cheer up y’all! :)
