How's everyone doing?

Hope you all had a good holiday season last month and ended the year in a good note. My first year as singer in HK officially ended, and I really had a lot of fun and learned a lot during that year. The year completed with TVB giving me and linda an award for our duet song <戀愛令人心痛>. I was extremely happy. I wanna thank Linda for doing the duet w/ me and I also wanna thank everyone for their support!! I promise to work harder this year.

Time flies, and before we know it...another holiday season is coming. This year is quite unique cuz Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day on the same day. Just wanna take this time to wish you all a Happy Chinese New Year and also Happy Valentine's Day!!! Hope everyone will have an awesome 2010!!! Gong Hei Fat Choi~!!!

Season's Greetings

Hey everyone!!

It's been a super super long time since i last blogged. Hope everyone in the AnD famlly is doing well. I just wanted to come and catch everyone before the holidays and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! Hope everything will be smooth in the upcoming year.

These few months has been really fun and busy for me as events and promotions continue after my album has come out. I especially had a great time in the end of October for TVB's anniversary show for singers. It was held in Macau, so it was like a field trip for singers.

Recently, in a show I was in, we had to sing a song of an artist who inspired us. I chose to sing the song "Lee Heung Lan" by Mr. Jacky Cheung. Hope you'll like it. Here's the video:

Besides my own stuff though, I've also had the chance to get back into the studio to do some production work again. I've been really excited about that. Just co-produced a couple tracks with my buddy Ben Chong recently. Please check out Gillian Chung''s new song "心多" (translated as "being indecisive"?...lol). It features MC Jin as well, so it's a pretty hot track. =)

Aside from work, I've also try to find time to relax, when i can. Last week, It was great to see Kewei and Einein come to HK to do a show at Backstage. If you guys aren't familiar with them, please check out Kewei's youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/kiwitay. They had a great show that night and it was nice meeting them in HK. It was also really cool when we exchanged our cds. Their EP, entitled "KEEP" is really good. Pls support them!!

Afterwards, we went to shoot some pool and it was really great hanging out with some friends and also some of the AnD crew. We gotta hang out more guys!!

Wow...I haven't come on AnD in a while...and I was so happy to see all these birthday wishes I got. Thank you everyone!!!!! Lately, I've been really busy w/ lots of promotional stuff...and I guess I'm on the last stretch of promotions b4 my first cd finally comes out. The date is set everyone. If no further changes occur, it should come out on Friday, August 7th!!! I'm finally getting kinda nervous...haha. There will be 7 songs (6 songs + 1 remix version) in total in this "mini album". Hope all will go well. Please support me and go buy a copy~ =)

Just came back from " The night before the HKCEE results" show at APM. There was sooo many ppl there....and I had a lot of fun. Wish all the HKCEE students the best of luck!! No matter wat...tmw is a brand new day. Keep fighting and never give up!!!

I'll try to get on AnD more often again. Ciao~

Goodbye MJ + TVB JSG

It was great being on JSG again last week.

But with the sudden death of MJ, there was also a sudden change to our show rundown. A special MJ tribute medley was added to the show to pay respect to the King of Pop. I really can't think of any star bigger or more iconic than he was. We will all truely miss him dearly.

It was really fun singing on stage w/ Mavis Fan, Kay Tse, Hins Cheung, and Allan from Mr. It was especially great to sing beside Mavis. I've been her fan for many many years, so to finally meet her was awesome!! She's very nice~

Philip Wei (韋雄) is a talented being in many ways, not only is he recognized as a talented musician, he is also known as a talented communicator with the ability to speak Cantonese, Mandarin, English, and Japanese. Being born in Hong Kong, raised in Toronto, and having lived in Japan, he has experienced more than most people his age. Philip has also performed in many cities including Hong Kong, Sendai, Chicago, Baltimore, Vancouver, Dominican Republic, and etc. He also sung and performed at many occasions in Toronto. Aside from singing, while still living in Toronto, Philip spent his spare time gigging as a drummer and chorus singer for Hong Kong and Taiwan artists performing overseas. Returning to Hong Kong after graduation, he continued to sing in many occasions, notably singing for a couple Disney feature films, while continuing to do some background vocals gigs. Before getting signed with Star Entertainment in July 2008, Philip also had the chance to work with the famous producer/lyricist Chen Shaoqi. Flying to Beijing and Taipei, and of course working in Hong Kong, he had the chance to take part in the production of several 2008 Beijing Olympic theme songs, Hong Kong’s 2008 30-Hour Famine theme song, as well as numerous pop songs.

Going back to his high school years, Philip's musical interest drew him to George S. Henry Academy High School, famous for its music programs. At George S. Henry, Philip was not only a part of the 100-plus member choir, but he was also chosen to be the lead soloist due to his exceptional voice and talent.

In 1999, Philip was introduced to renowned singer/performer Teresa Carpio. Soon, he began taking private training under the wings of Teresa. With the help of Teresa, Philip's vocal and performing abilities have expanded into another level. With many performing experiences under his belt, Philip decided to challenge himself by joining the Toronto New Talent Singing Competition. Over several rounds of elimination, and testing, it was obvious that Philip had more to offer than the other contestants, and the judges all agreed that Philip is, with no doubt, the winner. After winning the New Talent Competition, Philip gained a reputation locally as a talented singer / performer. In the summer of 2004, he also attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston to do further vocal studies. Performing in many occasions, Philip captured the public with his voice, and ability to sing.
