• a visit from a culinary grandmaster... | 烹飪大師來訪…

  The highest ranking Sausage-linked black-belt Zen-grandmaster of food studies arrived in Hong Kong sometime last week to show us how it was done.  When I say “it”, I mean food.  As soon as he appeared before us, he suggested loudly that we better “recognize”.   We attempted to “recognize” as instructed.

   

  First he demonstrated a special ability (which some people dub, “star” power) which causes a supposedly “closed for the afternoon” restaurant to miraculously open their doors and services to us.

  | 最高級別的烹飪黑帶、食物研究禪宗大師上周到香港，向我們展示了它是如何完成的。我說的"它"是指食物。他一出現在我們面前，就大聲建議我們最好學會"認知"，於是我們在他的指導下嘗試"認知"。

  首先他展示了一項特殊能力(某些人稱為"明星效應")：本來下午要關門休息的餐廳奇跡般地營業，為我們服務。

   

  The highest ranking Sausage-linked black-belt Zen-grandmaster of food studies was all smiles as our lesson began with the clashing of “beer” mugs.

  But no more than 6 seconds after the meat arrived, berating critiques of our grilling techniques came churning forth freely and stridently from his maw.

  This continued for what seemed like days.

   

  Lesson of the Day – Next time we eat anything without the highest ranking Sausage-linked black-belt Zen-grandmaster of food studies, don’t blog about it.  In fact, don’t tell anyone at all.  And if someone does find out, force an oath of eternal silence or cut out their tongue.

  今日教訓—下次別跟最高級別的烹飪黑帶、食物研究禪宗大師一起吃東西，也不要寫博客。其實不該告訴任何人。萬一有人發現了，要讓他發毒誓永遠不說出去，否則割掉他的舌頭。
