One of the best places I've eaten for Pho ever!  Dary and I go here whenever we are out and want Pho!  It's only a 5-10 minute drive from the Block (east on Chapman or north of the 22 Main St. exit)

Dary and I were trying to figure of things to actually help promote them and we came up with the idea of posting it on blogs and networking sites.

Reasons that this place is one of the best places for pho:

    1.  Robust menu and variety of foods - the menu is very easy to read and well organized with lots of photos to give you an idea of what the food looks like.  The prices are cheap too.  There are foods ranging from rice, to dry noodle, to asian salads and pho! Best of all......YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN PHO COMBOS!  You can create and choose to add what pho items you want in your bowl in case the typical selections don't have the right combos.

    2.  Cleanliness - this place is very clean.  This isn't like Luc Dinh Ky where the tables are sticky and the floor is kinda dirty.  Everything here is clean and pretty much spotless.  The utensils aren't sticky either!  The sauce bottles like siracha are clean and filled to the top!

    3.  Lots of space - you will never ever have to squeeze in between people sitting down (unlike Luc Dinh Ky).  The tables and chairs are well places and the restaurant itself is bigger than Luc Dinh Ky by a little.

    4.  Great service - Dary and I ate there today.  We first came in and there was someone already there to greet us and he let us choose our table.  The server was very polite and patient.  The owner also came out to talk with us - he told us how they were trying to improve the food and to let us know he was open to ideas to improve!  Dary wanted to order extra shrimp for her Bo Vien (meatball) pho and he was very helpful by telling about how much shrimp you would get and by showing us the best way to save a few cents.  The owner also came by twice more to ask us how the food was and asked us how we could improve the food and his restaurant (we talked about how he was advertising, what he could do, how he could open his shop even later, etc.)  His English was very good for a Vietnamese man.  He was a very calm and friendly person.

    5.  Payment - Unlike most Asian restaurants, this place takes CREDIT CARD OR DEBIT!!!  NOT JUST CASH.

    6.  Delivery - THEY DELIVER PHO!!!  This alone should be placing them at number 1.

    7.  Location - This place is easy to find.  It is located on the corner of Main St. and Chapman.  It is located next to Fresh and Easy store.  There is plenty of parking and near Main Street Mall (block or 2 down).

Dary and I would ask all of you to try this place out if you can and to spread the word!

  • Bad-minton

    Thursday, Nov 20, 2008 3:04AM / Standard Entry

So lately I have tried picking up badminton.

    Some things I noticed:
-Gyms and other recreation centers don't consider badminton a sport.  Heck, they list wheelchair basketball before badminton (no offense).
-Old people are hella crazy in badminton
-Badminton can make your legs, back and arms sore
-Badminton rackets need to be much larger...that wway I can never miss the birdie.
-Why is the birdie called a birdie?
-Badminton people will drive hours to find a gym to play
-No matter how hard I swing my arm, the birdie won't go so far :(

-Some badminton places have vending machines that sell 1 birdie for $1.25.  Madness.

After playing a few times, I've come to admit, and I will only admit here, that badminton is a sport.  I'm sore and in pain >.<

    Here's a few photos:
    What I want to be!
