  • Those Japanese game shows!

ABC's I Survived A Japanese Game Show is classic TV entertainment. Watch people perform some unusual and outlandish physical team challenges (where the chances of anyone breaking their necks is pretty miniscule) and laugh at/along with them as they do them.

The challenges will become more difficult as fewer contestants remain. The game started out with 10 Americans and is now down to 6. One person is eliminated every week. The prize is $250K.

Last week's challenge (15 July) had the contestants suited up in baby outfits (diaper shorts, bib, bonnet, large pacifier) as they went through an obstacle course in an attempt to put in as much milk as possible into a bottle. But first, they're spun around in a carousel to get them nice and dizzy.

You can see them in action here.

The comments by Japanese host, Rome Kanda, are pretty funny too. He's a samurai master, an actor and a stand-up comic. "Bad baby!"

The American host, Tony Sano, is also an actor and hails from Oakland, up the road. Don't know about that accessory growing under his lip. I kinda like sideburns on men.

Some serious, silly competition. I'm hooked.

The Japanese are pretty mad at game show & always have funny ideas. With $250k to win people won't mind what they do heehee.

I still remember old episodes of Takeshi's Castle and the like. Japanese game shows are insane, always fun to watch. I wonder if I can get this on youtube, it looks like fun. I can't view the videos on the site as I'm outside the states.

yea I'm hooked on this show too... I really wanted Meaghan to be eliminated. She became a complete turn-off for me when she went up to her team wrapped in a towel... *ack*

I saw a segment somewhere in which the contestants were on columns sticking out of a body of water.  The columns were at like all the positions of a clock and then there was a giant wand like a big hand of a clock spinning around trying to knock them off.  They had helmets on but some of the falls I saw looked really ugly.  It had to hurt.  Maybe they've toned down since then.  People love to watch other people make fools of themselves.  You can't help but laugh, and groan.
