  • Polishing the nails - what's your thang?

    I've noticed this on occasion.

Instead of polishing the toenails in their entirety, I've seen ladies with the toenails only partially-painted.

There's a wide swath of color at the center of the nail, extending from the cuticle to the edge at the toe's tip. There are unpainted parts to the left and right of the polish.

I believe I've seen this technique also applied to the fingernails.

I usually paint the whole nail. Nothing left to the imagination.

If you paint your nails, do you shoot for 100% coverage or less?

Mm in my head im imagining it would look like one strip of polish on each nail then..? No? Maybe I'm not reading the description properly, LOL. But yeahh... 100% coverage and more. As in, I'd actually be checking to ensure it's covered 100%. Mmm but if I see this new trend and I like it, I might do it one day :p That's if I ever see it coz I havent really heard or seen anything like that before =\

Something like that wouldn't look good on me anyway, nail colored polish & 100 % coverage looks nice these days.

Just my opinion, but I think the half n half look is hard for most to carry off cuz it 'stunts' the look of the nails & at the same time calls attention to them.

i dunno.. I heard this myth nail polish turns your nails yellow...

but when I use to do my nails, i did them how ever i felt.. either full on nail polish.. or decorate just the tips.. or do lil designs in the centre..

Just whatever I felt like.. ^_^

can men participate too? ;) in regards of toenails in a woman i prefer natural with no paint or 100% one single color like white or pink ;)  no mega reds, dark purples or black, no designs and specially: no longer sharp  toenails with french pedicure style! yikes, that "thang" scares me away........

[now, if she is very hot i may make some exceptions ;) ]

If I'm applying polish it's usually 100%, but if I'm trying do add some fancy little fake crystals on then I only paint where necessary.

100% coverage for me, especially if I have to go to work...

Half painted nails can look good only if they're done properly, if not, they can look pretty cheap...

Seldom paint it now days coz it get very hard to clean it up after part of it peal off. I usually cover the whole surface. But if to draw something, i might only draw 1 or 2 finger for fun. can't draw using left hard on my right finger.

I like to paint it white or black. I use to laugh at myself looking at my own fingers dancing across my keyboard.

i paint 100%.. i havent seen anyone just paint the center.. i used to do that 4 years ago but i had my nail 100% painted with black and in the center i had a strip of white.. i thought i was the only one in the whole entire world who weirdly painted their nails like that.

i have tried having 2 different colors on the left and right of my nail but definitely not leaving portions of it empty. wouldn't it look really weird? i'm not really into nail painting actually. chips off really quickly. LoL!

    100% coverage
    Toes only
Colors: Essie Mademoiselle or Pinking Up The Pieces (both pale pinks cause Mr. B hates dark polish)
As someone who does alot with their hands, I don't really get super long nails or that nail art stuff.

I don't paint my nails, but on the rare occasion I do I usually smear it over the entire tip of the digit, kinda encapsulate it.  No, seriously, I make such a mess of it that I rarely try.
