  • Netflix queue sees no end

    Oh boy.

I have accumulated over 50 movies in my Netflix movies-to-be-seen queue. Seems like such an extensive list, comprised mostly of foreign titles with a sprinkling of sci-fi/fantasy, action/adventure, TV, comedy and drama.

The list had been hovering around 40 or so titles for the longest time. I was comfortable with slowly whittling away at that. But we never really whittle anything away, do we? There's constantly new movies being introduced to be seen or I'm always discovering some older film I need to catch.

First up on the plate, Ironman and How I Met Your Mother, Season 2 Disc 1. Maybe do a little 2x (fast-forwarding).

Those will be followed by Indiana Jones/Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Samantha Who? Season 1, Disc 1, and Nana.

My strategy is to reduce my library reading for the remainder of the year after I get through this Candace Bushnell book.

I remember a time when I'd go down to the nearest Blockbuster or Hollywood Video to try to find some good movies. It was nearly impossible as the Hollywood offerings weren't always to my taste. The foreign section was not a the genre BB or HV actively minded. Thank goodness for Netflix!

I like these online rental places much better than the likes of overpriced blockbuster, and likewise they have a much better selection. My only gripe and it's a small one, is you may not get the film you really want to see that week, and could be waiting quite a while, as I often did, but that was my only problem.

By the way, you can watch a lot of movies on demand at Netflix if you're on the 3+ rental plan which means, in the middle of the night, you need entertainment fast, there it is.

JRS is right, and Netflix should pay me some promotional consideration for all the product placement!

My Netflix queue is always at the maximum number (400 or 500?).  Anyway, I've been working through lists of NYTimes 1000 Best Movies of all times, 50 Best Kung Fu Movies of all times, some other lists and then ones I happen upon, directors I like, and then new ones which intrigue me.

THAT's why I don't need TV!  Plus, there's the library (like Butter).  And now I can watch TV shows online -- I am keeping up with DWTS, Heroes, The Daily Show, Colbert Report, ..... all from my laptop.

    I never read anymore.

I've never tried Netflix. I'm into borrowing stuff to watch from the library lately.  How I Met Your Mother is the best.  I love the Barnacle :)

cool my parents had netflix, and my girlfriend had blockbuster netflix thingy.  I preferred BB's just cuz it was cool to take it back and get a free rental right then and there rather than wait for the netflix to come in the mail...but netflix definitely got a better selection.
