Jurassic Pk is still great with the suspense. Kids couldn't take it (what's the fun of hiding during the good parts?) so I didn't seek out 2 and 3. Although from my faint recollection they weren't nearly as good. Moon, Inglorious Basterds, Timer, Paris (2009) and Inception were good. The Piano Teacher was definitely wtf.

I have to start doing this, it's interesting to look back at things from previous years and compare. I'm still trying to shorten my film reviews into one book and starting to wish I hadn't begun reviewing every film I saw from the age of ten.

What did you think of the White Ribbon? I've been wanting to watch this for a while, someone told me that if I found Magdalene Sisters compelling to watch than I should give this a go.

You are a statistical maven!  I too find myself picking up the same movie and then discovering I'd seen it.  But sometimes a reviewing a few years later is an interesting experience too.

I'm still married to the library.  Cheaper (50 cents a movie for a week) and the selection is great).  Plus now I'm picking up CDs too.  Great selection and things I'd never buy myself.

My favorite movie from your list?  I loved Mother----got me in the gut.    A Prophet was really good too.  Hated The Piano Teacher.  White Ribbon was good but reminded me of Bergman if he went the horror route.  Many good ones and ones I haven't seen.

    Which would you recommend?

By the way, after your blog I went back and watched Jurassic Park 2 and 3 (couldn't find 1).

Excel of course! I initially started tracking just my books bc I'd sometimes forget if I'd read a certain title or not. :-\ then I realized that reasoning also worked for the movies. And I am anal.

I'm gonna be streaming more too. If netflix hadn't increased their rate I wouldn't have reduced my plan with them. tsktsk. Plus, Redbox is everywhere.

Significant drop-off of Japanese - 31 in '09 and 13 in '08 - and Korean - 14 in '09 and '08 -  titles from previous years. I used to access those movies through VCD purchases but my usual outlet for VCDs has removed that option. Also no longer up to spending much on foreign movie discs.
