Do you boil your instant noodles and rinse them out before you make the soup base?

Makes them less "instant," doesn't it?

I recently learned that this may be a healthier way to eat instant noodles. Most of the instant noodles are fried, after all.

Although the package directions don't suggest the added step of rinsing the cooked noodles, it's an excellent idea to do just that.

When I was in an Asian store in Flushing, NY last summer, I was shown a couple of brands of instant noodles which did not use fried noodles. Can't recall which ones they were. I should have taken a pic so I could
    more easily find them here!

The cholesterol and saturated fat content in instant noodles are sky-high!

Instant noodles have been one of my cravings of late...  I skip the soup base, add noodles after bringing water to a boil, add sliced low-sodium spam then drain.  Sometimes, depending on my mood, I add a fried egg on top.  Bon appetit!

Yes I do rinse them out most of the time. Heard this helps geting rid of some of the oil or 'chemicals'. Makes it taste little bit better too.

I've never done the rinsing part before.   Now that you mentioned it, it does seem to be healthier that way.

I don't eat instant noodles, If I'm going to indulge in unhealthy food it is going to be chocolate or chips and dips, maybe the odd meat pie and sausage roll....

If we didn't indulge in unhealthy foods every once in a while, it would be a sad, sad life, don't you think? haha. I don't eat instant meals very often. I think I have more healthy habits than most.

I don't know about eating "wax." What about you?

I've never heard of rinsing the noodles before.  I just don't drink the soup.  I just bought some unfried instant oat noodles.  They're okay but I prefer my usual Korean Jin instant noodles which are probably fried.  The way I see it is that as long as you don't eat them all the time - it's okay

Hmm...does rinsing makes any difference? I think the packet of those flavored powder are the main "killing" ones cos it contains MSG & all the unhealthy contents.

yeah i rinse if i'm not in a hurry. I heard stories of when the noodles are drying, little creatures would run over them, hence another reason to "wash" the noodles...dunno...could be an urban legend.

    Hey peachey =)
My korean roommate can seriously open up a shop with all the noodles she has stored in her pantry. She tells me that some of them are even 'healthy'.
One of my favs are Migoreng- but someone told me that for every pack you eat, your life is shortened by 5 hours or something. Nice idea of rinsing them though!
