I am not a craft person. With that said,....

To celebrate the birth of a child, many Chinese families throw a Red Egg and Ginger party that traditionally takes place about one month after the child's birth.
We celebrated about two months' later. I can't recall why we didn't do it at one month. Anyway... not important.
I credit Mr. P's 2nd cousin, whom we visited in HK when I was nearly 7 months pregnant, for inspiring the idea of giving bunnies as party favors to guests. We were at dinner when 2nd cousin took the restaurant's wet washcloth and proceeded to fold it into a small bunny. Ingenious!
I didn't decide right then and there to use that concept. When we returned to the States, some time later I asked the cousin to fax me a diagram on how to fold a washcloth to create the bunny. She was a graphic designer and she sent me a great, hand-drawn diagram.
During the weeks leading up to the birth, I spent my bed-rest time watching X-Files DVDs and:
- shopping for the materials to make the bunnies,
- stringing necklaces of clear beads lined with silver coloring,
- folding the bunnies out of wash cloths purchased bulk at Costco,
- hot-gluing the bunnies,
- hot-gluing the necklace and a tail onto the bunnies.
After the birth, I ordered birth announcements and ribbons. The ribbons were hot-glued to the waiting bunnies.

The finished bunnies. They're about 4 inches in length.
(Behind the bunnies are my crystal flute glasses used at my wedding, which I also decorated.)

Here's the necklace peeking out behind the ears and ribbon. The silver paint inside the beads has begun to discolor.
When I'm on a mission, like making towel bunnies, I can become quite enthusiastic and focused. Even for a person not into crafts. I can't remember how many I made. I still have a few left.
