Have some cake.

It was someone's birthday and I tried my hand again at making the birthday cake.

I don't have a favorite cake recipe. I like to browse the internet. I love the internet!

Here's the batter with lots of butter, eggs, sugar and flour.


I thought it was going to overflow in the oven. Whew! Glad it didn't. I do so dislike oven messes.


Cooled down and split for the filling. I used fruit cocktail for the filling.


The finished product. I think I should find out how to make those clear glazes to shine up the fruits. Maybe next time. Maybe not.


This is my most fancy and thought-out cake decoration yet. The cake is rich and tasty. And big! With all that butter and eggs, it's gotta be good.

Wish I could share but I fear (as always whenever I bake) I may have to eat most of it myself.
