  • Grooming - something we should all be doing

Not unlike these rhesus monkeys, sometimes I, too, need a little assistance from my other half when it comes to grooming. We usually remain clothed though.

The task? To locate and eradicate the grey hairs on my head. Thankfully, they're still few and far between. No bugs were found in case you were wondering (thank you for your concern).

Are you aware of the old wives' tale about pulling out grey hairs? For every grey hair forcefully removed from your scalp, 3 or 4 will return to take its place. It was something undesirable like that.

I advise you to think twice before you succumb to your urge to yank out that grey hair(s).

I realize most members on AnD are at the stage in their lives where it's inconceivable a grey hair would ever sprout from their heads. :P

The only thing that's sprouted for me so far was a little white hair in my right eyebrow. I plucked it out a few times and it hasn't grown back since.

I've got a few grey hairs that have been twith me since early twenties......I kind of like them, like little battle scars of stress :D.
But yeah it's one old wives' tale I'm not willing to test.

lol, I have been going grey since I was 21.  Hehe my middle school students asked me if I dyed my hair - I said no and they all ooed and ahed like it was special.  I was like wtf as if I would die my hair to pepper it with grey - lol

it's true for me!  what used to be a stray little lil- rascals'-alfalfa-like white hair has turned into a fountain of four little hairs springing from the top of my head!

I've read somewhere that it's not true, but if there was a gray hair I'd colour it instead of pulling it out.  Hehe, just to be safe. =P

I don't think that's really true.  Mr B is getting quite a bit of grey hair but it runs in his family.  I would rather he has grey hair than go bald though.

I will never pull them out! Just in case the myth is true...so I just dye my hair now...
but I do remember the first time I found a grey hair, I was so sad it ruined my whole week! then I had a nightmare my teeth fell out!!! LOL

There are a lot of myths about gray hair.....one is that they can be stress-related (the more stress you have, the more gray hair!).  I recently read an article in Newsweek that said that the gray hair we get is only caused by our genes.  Nothing else.  ::sigh::

I actually had a hair (from my head) on my brush...I pulled it out of the brush and I'll be darned if it was golden brown at the bottom of the hair and gray at the top!  It was like turning gray from the scalp-out!  haha!

lol, thank god for ammonia or henna, that our hair can be colourful and not grey at any age. I look as if I have grey hair from streaking my hair, and not retouching it *shivers*

i don't think that it's true. I've had the same grey hair grow back for the past few years. Altho recently it just found itself a friend! I couldn't resist! i had to pull them out. They look so out of place if you leave them in a sea of black hair.
