Merry Christmas

Hey folks.

Thank you for everybody’s support during the last year. It is a tremendous boost to me to hear everybody’s comments on my work, whether in praise or constructive criticism. Please keep it coming.

I hope you enjoyed indulging on Christmas day this year. It is the only day of the year where we don’t have to use the term over-indulgence and food in the same sentence. As I’m in Korea, land of no turkeys at all (but lots of Turkish people, it’s just that kebab doesn’t really say Christmas to me), I went to an all you can...Read more

Idols to idolise, to learn from but not to copy. The genius of Ricky Gervais

Being creative professionally is a curious business in that we often are inspired to create by the greats who went before us. As an actor I idolize a lot of great actors like Al Pacino, Daniel Day Lewis and Johnny Depp among others. My comedian friends idolize people like Lenny Bruce and George Carlin. As a writer I’m inspired by Bukowski and Kerouac. My principal inspiration is Ricky Gervais

My First Full Trailer Appearance

Back in January this year, 2011, I shot my first feature film scenes with lines. The trailer for the that film ‘Little Black Dress’ came out a month later and I was ecstatic because I could see my shoulder in one of the cuts in the trailer. Nobody watching the trailer would have ever known it was me, but I was still excited to know that it was there.

Today, 11 months and 3 more feature film roles with lines later and I have finally seen a trailer where I am recognisable and reappear a number of times.

It’s kin...Read more

I love it. I love the radio and how relaxed the recording can be. It’s really no different from doing the podcast. The production values for radio are much higher though, and I can choose music to play, rather than looking for open source music as I do on the podcast.

We talked about music, obviously. I got to choose a couple of song...Read more
