Pictures from my trip to Seoul, September 30, 2007 to October 7, 2007. My birthday was actually October 7 so I started celebrating at midnight in Seoul, boarded my flight back to San Francisco 14 hours later, and when I landed, it was 9 am in the morning, meaning my birthday this year lasted about 36 hours. That made it 1 hour for every year of my life. Sobering.

Anyway, I'm really happy with some of these shots - most were taken with my iPhone for convenience but most of the low-light shots were taken with my old Sony DSC-V1 digital camera with a tiny 34 mm lens. The cover photo for this album - the photo of a cool cafe in the artsy Samcheong area of Seoul - was taken WITHOUT a tripod at ISO 400 set at f/3.2 and a shutter speed of 1/10, first try. Now that's what I call a rock-steady hand, if I do say so myself!

In any case, enjoy these photos and if you have any questions about what you're looking at, leave me a comment.

Yeah, the Hermes store is a fantastic piece of architecture. It's one of just 4 flagship stores in the world with its own museum. If you're in the mood for a $10 cup of coffee, the cafe in the basement serves up a decent brew.
