Amitabh Bachchan at Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong!

It was such a fun and pleasure to perform for the unveiling of Amitabh Bachchan's wax figure at Madame Tussauds. He is the first among Indian Actors to be exhibited at the Tussauds museum in Hong Kong and hopefully will start and new trend.

I am still dreaming of meeting Amitabh in person.. but that was a good way to see one of the mega stars among Bollywood actors.

And I never imagined him being so tall!

International dance extravaganza 2011!

Don't miss International Dance Extravaganza at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, January 11th 2011, Tuesday 7:30p.m to 10:00 pm. This is a variety dance show and there will be up to 18 different international performances. I will be performing a new fusion dance.. surprise!

Bollywood Christmas

The busiest time of the year is approaching fast... all the singers, dancers, photographers and other entertainers are being snatched by different event organizers.

And what are we dong for christmas? We are dancing Bollywood at Olympian city shopping mall..

And the theme of our christmas performance is an Indian Wedding, don't ask me what is the connection between christmas and Indian wedding - I have no idea, but both events are very loud, colorful, joyful and family oriented (at times).

Well, many times I said before that I wouldn't do Bollywood and here we go.. I thought it'd be a great fun and - I love all that bling! A new challenge, some change in routine - never thought I would enjoy it so much.

I have a great team of dancers and love meeting them for rehearsals.

In the end it is good to widen horizons and we might have more doors open for us soon.

My new website.

The time has come, when I decided to have a separate (more official looking) site to showcase and promote not only my work but work of all dancers and and all performances of Cosmic Dance group.

So, I might use this blog for its original purpose and actually try blogging on a regular bases, not only posting from time to time . There are so many things I would like to write and discuss and being away from India and all my dance friends for so long makes me want to share thoughts with the world.

The new site was designed by my own very best dad all the content would not be possible without my friends and much loved students and finally the beautiful photo on the home page was taken by a very talented photographer Michelle Garthe.

As you can see, my work is very personal to me and very close to my heart because of all the people’s help and encouragement.

New course for beginners in Bharatnatyam Indian Classical Dance will start from Tuesday, November 3rd at India Club in Jordan.

Fee - 700 for 5 classes.

I am a Bharatnatyam performer, teacher and choreographer from Kazakhstan.
I am in love with Indian Classical Dance and feel very lucky that I had an opportunity to complete a 4 year course in Bharatntayam from the world famous Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts (Chennai, India).

The love for dance brought me closer to the music and I learned and
acquired diploma in Nattuvangam (rhythmic dance accompaniment) from Kalapeetam music school (Chennai, India).

Since my graduation in 2006 I have performed and taught this dance form in India, Kazakhstan, and Armenia, and have been promoting Indian Classical and Fusion Dance in Hong Kong for the past three years.

I have registered my dance company "Cosmic Dance" in 2009 and continue to teach Bharatanatyam to kids and adults, local and foreign students and by performing on a number of occasions.
