TRIBAL FUSION is a collective of international professional dancers, choreographers, teachers and life-long students of dance. We bring our own unique skills to the mix and arrived in Hong Kong from vastly different directions:

Maggie Blue O'Hara, Canada: Co-Artistic Director, All Theatre Art Association – Contemporary Dance and Ritual Theatre

Oxana Banshikova, Kazakhstan: Master of Bharatanatyam classical Indian dance

Suzette Ackermann, South Africa: Belly Dancer/Yoga Instructor

Kate Li, Hong Kong: Jazz Dance (Graduate, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts)

A 20-minute performance with our beautiful, talented dancers and exotic, upbeat music in a trio of dances:

Light: Indian dance fusion by Oxana Banshikova

Dark: Rock ‘n’ roll belly dance by Suzette Ackermann

The Tribes Meet: A fusion of belly dance, Indian dance, jazz and ritual theatre embodying the bliss of dark and light with all five dancers

Good to see another dancer on here! It may not be that small of a world, but my friend and former room-mate is a world-leading famous classical pianist from Kazakhstan, Tanya Karyagina. Thought I'd see on the small chance if you knew each other :) Take care and God bless!

I am a Bharatnatyam performer, teacher and choreographer from Kazakhstan.
I am in love with Indian Classical Dance and feel very lucky that I had an opportunity to complete a 4 year course in Bharatntayam from the world famous Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts (Chennai, India).

The love for dance brought me closer to the music and I learned and
acquired diploma in Nattuvangam (rhythmic dance accompaniment) from Kalapeetam music school (Chennai, India).

Since my graduation in 2006 I have performed and taught this dance form in India, Kazakhstan, and Armenia, and have been promoting Indian Classical and Fusion Dance in Hong Kong for the past three years through teaching Bharatanatyam to local and foreign students and by performing on a number of occasions.
