For reasons beyond my comprehension, my internet cuts out most of the time.  I can never tell what will allow it to work.  I cannot even tell if it is the laptop, or the internet connection itself, since out of my three computers, only one is working right now.  I must have angered the guardians of IT.

Saturday night I joined Al-F, N, Al and Pyack at Marx Cafe, and I was happy to learn they brought back their garlic soup.  It was a fun evening, but I should have gone home three hours before I did.  The conversations went all serious, and then I got bummed out.

Sunday I was really down, either due to alcohol or to sexual frustration.  I spent most of the day reading Anthem of a Reluctant Prophet.  I highly recommend the book.  A kid suddenly has the ability to sense impending deaths of people, and it causes him problems, naturally.  But the author never lets the supernatural aspects of the novel overwhelm the normal teenage angsty aspects of the novel. In the end, he comes to terms with his abilities by realizing he needs to appreciate the "music" of the lives of people around him, before they pass on.

I'm an idiot.  While we have established that I should be nowhere near technology when I have had a drink, I now think it's safe to say I should be extremely careful near technology even when completely sober.  Case in point - I appear to have broken the server hosting my new blog.  Many million apologies to Pyack (who set it all up) and to Al (who lives with Pyack, hears his conversations with me and WARNED HIM not to leave the server in my apartment).

If Pyack can get the server working again, I will resume my blog on that site.  If not, I may not resume my blog at all.  My handwritten journal is taking off, and besides, there is something inherently narcissistic about blogging, something I may ought to deal with before it destroys me - or at least keeps me single forever.
