Another ekphrasis and this time, it's my favourite poetic form - the sonnet.
Remembering you -
a poem inspired by the violet sunset at the Strait of Georgia, featured in Dusk Moods
There was an old adage about true love,
that every ship will sail yet dock at last,
and so I chronicled my days out of,
the sun, the moon, and stars to mark the past.
And here it was where endless dulcet met,
I met thee ‘ere above the rocks ashore,
A night of skies o’ bright and violet,
believed my heart has found its place amour.
Befell this dusk I came again to seek,
the vanished shadows of your love for me,
wherefore art thou not coming back, bespeak,
my heart had bled a song of grief at sea.
Yet time will come when lilac skies loom high,
A postlude I play I shall say goodbye.
