  • LI YA: The Greatest Gymnast For Me...

    Monday, Jun 22, 2009 5:10PM / Standard Entry

CHINESE ARE GREAT GYMNASTS. THEIR TALENT IS ON THEIR OWN BLOOD.

    I LVE YOU LI YA!!!

Li Ya was a member of the Chinese team that won the team competition at the 2006 World Championships and was a member of the 2004 Olympic Team. During her career, she was an uneven bars and balance beam specialist.

Li Ya has two moves named after her in the Code of Points: the "Li Ya salto", which is a Jaeger ½ + Jaeger release-release combination, and the "Li Ya dismount". She is the only Chinese female gymnast to have two moves named after her. Li retired from the national team in 2008.

Li Ya is the 2004 National Champion on the uneven bars as well as the 2004 National All Around Silver Medalist. She had a great deal of success in the 2004 World Cup Circuit despite a bad showing at the 2004 Olympics. She won the uneven bars title at the Glasgow and Ghent World Cup Qualifiers. She also won a bronze medal at the 2004 Glasgow World Cup Qualifier. In December 2004 Li Ya qualified to the World Cup Final in Birmingham. She was the most successful Chinese female gymnast at the World Cup Final. She won a bronze medal on the uneven bars and a silver medal on the balance beam.

Li was briefly injured in 2005, but recovered in time to win silver medals at the 2005 Chinese National Championships and the 2005 Britain vs China Dual Meet on the uneven bars. In October, she competed at the National Games but did not win any medals. A few weeks later, she was part of China's winning team at the East Asia Games in Macau, where she also won a gold medal on the uneven bars. She was not selected for the 2005 World Championships in Melbourne.

She competed in the 2006 Tournament of Masters in Cottbus, a world cup event, and won the gold medal on the uneven bars. In this event, she pioneered a difficult release-release combination, a Jaeger with a half turn directly into a Jaeger. This move was later named for her. Li also qualified for the beam final and finished in fourth place, due to a mistake on her first skill.

She competed at the 2006 World Championships in Aarhus, Denmark where she was a member of the Chinese team that won the gold medal in the women's team event. She did not compete in the team final, having withdrawn from the uneven bars due to nerves sustained from a performance marred by a fall in the preliminary competition.

After this competition, Li Ya did not receive positive coverage from the press in China and was not named to the team for the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar. However, she had one more chance, having qualified for bars and beam in the World Cup Finals in Brazil, held in December. She hit her routines at this competition, winning silver on bars behind world champion Beth Tweddle, and winning gold on the balance beam.

In 2007, Li Ya competed in the Maribor World Cup where she placed 2nd on balance beam and 1st on the uneven bars.

She announced her retirement in 2008.

The USA and CHINESE gymnasts are competing in the finals last 2008 Beijing Olympics. Li Ya is here.

  • MY NEW CAT ---> LI NI

    Saturday, Jun 13, 2009 5:02PM / Standard Entry

The day was hot, so boring. I decided to walk outside. While walking I heard “meow meow!”. Great! A new cat is waiting…

I searched. I lifted a cloth and to my surprise, there was a baby cat. When I was about to hold her, she ran. I ran after her. The cat climb a tree with thorns. I can’t reach her so I went home and looked for a chair.

I placed the chair near the tree and pursued to get the cat. My hands were near the cat when oh! I fell. My foot was bleeding seriously.

The next day, I returned to the place where I saw the cat. She was there. She saw me and again, she ran then climb the tree. I caught the cat. I carried her going to our house. I gave her food and water. But after drinking, she ran away and returned to her old house.

I never returned to the place where I saw the cat. I believe that the cat is contented of what she has. After two days, I was surprised when I saw the cat in our house, obviously, looking for food. I gave her food, water and love for I didn’t harm her that’s why she loved me.

From that time on, she never returned to her old house, loved me so much and sleep with me every night. We play board games and soccer together. I named her Li Ni.

  • prOud tO be here in the PHILIPPINES!

    Tuesday, Jun 2, 2009 6:59PM / Standard Entry

Philippines. Many people think that it's just a poor country. They're wrong. PHILIPPINES has a lot of natural resources and beautiful scenery.

THANKS TO MANNY PACQUAIO. PHILIPPINES IS NOW FAMOUS BECAUSE OF HIM!

    Ok. Let me start:

The Philippines is an archipelago made up of about 7,100 islands. This archipelago country is located in Southeast Asia. In Asia, it is also one of the popular countries that get visited yearly by tourists, and here are the top ten places that they love going back to.

    1.) Intramuros

This walled "city" is located in Manila. It served as a walled settlement of the Spaniards during their occupation of the country and, as such, has its own museums as well as churches and wonderful ruins. Today, this well-preserved Intramuros is one of the visited places in the Philippines.

    2.) Rizal Park

Also called Luneta, this is a very good place if you want a leisurely walk. This park is dedicated to the Philippines' national hero, Jose Rizal, who was not only a poet but a very good writer during the Spanish era, and this was also the place where he was executed. Now, this is a popular place for picnics.

    3.) Baywalk

This is a walking distance from the Rizal Park. You can find here numerous restaurants and bars offering wonderful foods and drinks. This is also a nice place to stroll along as well as listen to the many bands that play at night.

    4.) Mount Pinatubo

This majestic volcano that wreaked havoc in the lives of Filipinos during the early 1990s is located in Pampanga. Here, you can take guided hikes on some parts of its slope. You can also take a refreshing dip in Pinatubo's crater lake.

    5.) Nayong Pilipino

If you want to tour famous destinations of the Philippines in one spot, then visit Nayong Pilipino. This cultural park has a miniature Philippine Islands including some of the beautiful spots of the country. You can also buy here some native foods as well as souvenirs.

    6.) Camp John Hay

When you visit Baguio, the country's summer capital, be sure to visit also Camp John Hay. This used to be an American Military area but was later given to the Philippine government. Now, it is a recreational center with golf club, and it also offers horseback riding as well as camping.

    7.) Boracay

Boracay Island is located in the Visayas Region. What this beautiful island offers is its majestic white sand beaches. This is a popular tourist destination of not only the locals but the foreigners as well, and there are a lot of activities here like the usual water sports as well as trendy bars and discos during summertime.

    8.) Mount Apo

This magnificent mountain can be found in Davao. Here, you can go nature tripping as well as hiking. You will also see here the Philippine Eagle, which is said to be one of the biggest eagles of the world.

    9.) Mayon Volcano

This wonderful and perfectly cone-shaped volcano can be found in Bicol. What makes this a major tourist spot is that you will find here the bell tower of an old church that was buried when it erupted during the early 1800s, and also, with that major eruption, it buried the Cagsawa town. Now, this is a must-see when you visit the Philippines, and you can also buy your souvenirs here as well as the famous pili nut candy.

10.) Camarines Sur Water Sports Complex

Located in Pili, Camarines Sur in Bicol, this is fast becoming a must-visit place whenever you visit the Philippines. If you love cable wakeboarding, then this is the place to be as it boasts of a wonderful cable wakeboarding experience as well as modern amenities. You can also find quaint cabanas here where you can spend your summer or vacation, plus, the services here are excellent.
