Nic also co-founded Sinema Old School - The first fully independent high definition cinema dedicated to Singapore films.
Award-winning photo artist/filmmaker Nicholas Chee has been in the forefront of Digital Imaging and Video.
He is a graduate of Temasek Design School's Visual Communications program in Singapore and has been trained in both traditional and digital photography as well as graphic design.
On his commercial front, he has been commissioned to art direct and shoot for major international clients such as SWISS Air, Fendi, Intercontinental Bali, Sony, Panasonic, Sony Ericsson, Bum Equipment and CNN.
He is one of the first few digital filmmakers who has shot a feature length movie; 'Becoming Royston', entirely on the Panasonic P2 High Definition file-based workflow.
Nic is an Apple Pro Evangelist as well as a camera design consultant for Panasonic’s professional range of broadcast cameras.
He also consults for filmmakers on file-based high definition workflow conversion and implementation.
Since 2005, Nic has been working with leading Digital Imaging and Video vendors such as Apple, Adobe, Epson, Panasonic and X-Rite to develop workflow solutions for the market.
As a co-founder of the first independent high definition cinema dedicated to Singapore Films, he conceptualised and implemented the setup of Sinema Old School which is pioneering in low-cost E Cinema HD post production and distribution workflows and techniques.
Nic is also a founding partner of Originasian Pictures LLP which specialises in film content production, distribution as well as 360 degree new-media marketing solutions for feature films.
He also founded Sinema.SG, a web-based media covering all news of Singapore independent film scene.
Nic also teaches both the Craft and Art of Photography and is a strong advocate of the need for visual literacy.
He is currently pursuing his MA in Photography at Europe's largest and leading centre for art communication and design, the University of the Arts London - London College of Communication.
