  • The Diary of a Day

    Tuesday, Sep 2, 2008 11:36PM / Standard Entry / Photography

As I slow rise above the distanced horizon, the heat and light from my body slowly glazed upon the ground below me.  One by one, little lives are illuminated by my presence and what was once a quiet lifeless place is slowly becoming lively and energetic.  I am the signal many are looking for.  I am the hope many have waited to come.  I am life many have wished upon.

It is time for this day to start...

Tried but fulfilled, it is now time for me to retire.  As I start my slowly decent to, I wish that many below me have had a wonderful day for I know I have.  I hoped that I was able to shined on the those that needs my light, got warmth for those who are cold.   As I smiled throughout my journey today, I know many have smiled back, knowing I have brought light into their world.  My job is done for today, and now I can rest easy and get ready for one more trip tomorrow.

The quiet clam of the night.  Nothing is more soothing then the silence of rest.  My journey is complete and my brother has now taken my place in the sky.  He may not be as strong and he need not be.  For what he enjoys is making people feel at ease, resting to know that another day has come to a conclusion.  And he sings a lullaby as he travels the same route I took and brings upon peace so people can rest easy...for another journey will soon begin anew.

  • A Husband Store...

    Saturday, Aug 23, 2008 2:20AM / Standard Entry

Recently a "Husband Store" opened where women could go to choose a husband from among many men. It was laid out in five floors.

The only rule was, once you opened the door to any floor, you HAD to choose a man from that floor; if you went up a floor, you couldn't go back down except to leave the place, never to return. A couple of girlfriends went to the shopping center to find some husbands...

    First floor
The door had a sign saying, "These men have jobs and love kids." The women read the sign and said, "Well, that's better than not having a job or not loving kids, but I wonder what's further up?" So up they went.

    Second floor
The sign read, "These men have high paying jobs, love kids, and are extremely good looking." "Hmmm," said the ladies, "But, I wonder what's further up?"

    Third floor
This sign read, "These men have high paying jobs, are extremely good looking, love kids and help with the housework."
"Wow," said the women, "Very tempting." But there was another floor, so further up they went.

    Fourth floor
This door had a sign saying "These men have high paying jobs, love kids, are extremely good looking, help with the housework and have a strong romantic streak."
"Oh, mercy me," they cried, "Just think what must be awaiting us further on! So up to the fifth floor they went.

    Fifth floor
The sign on that door said, "This floor is empty and exists only to prove that women are impossible to please. The exit is to your left."

  • Jay Chou (周杰倫)

    Tuesday, Aug 19, 2008 12:17PM / Standard Entry

Many people would consider pop singers as untalented, and nothing more than a marketing gimmick.  But every once in a while, someone comes along in the pop scene that truly push the boundaries of music and creativity.  Jay Chou, 周杰倫, is one of these rare individuals.

His songs are being heard and recognized all over the world.  This young man is also not afraid to expand his talent by going into directing.

I am very excited about his career.

To showcase his talent, here is a clip of him playing along side world famous Li Wen Di (not sure if that's how his name is written).

    Enjoy!

  • Beijing 2008 is finally here!!!

    Friday, Aug 8, 2008 9:23PM / Standard Entry

After years of waiting, Beijing 2008 is finally here!  Opening ceremony is happening as I am entering this entry.

This Olympics is certainly one that is full of emotions and controversies.  China and its people have been waiting for be put on a world's stage like this for many years and everyone is very excited for today.  Years of planning and building, the 2008 Beijing Olympics is finally underway.

Despite the negativity surrounding this Olympics (mainly from the hypocritical USA), the opening ceremony was extremely well done, with dancing and display of Chinese's true multicultural nature.

Good luck atlethes, the games are now yours.

This will be one to remember, I'm sure.

  • Good luck MC Jin!

    Thursday, Aug 7, 2008 5:23AM / Standard Entry

I just want to give a shout out to MC Jin who's Cantonese album came out yesterday!  Although there was a Level 8 typhoon in HK, I'm sure the real typhoon will happen in all the HMC stores when it opens again tomorrow!

This guy is an amazing emcee, straight up.  A freestyler, a story teller, a rapper that is truly talented.  Like many of his fan based, he first caught my eyes on 106 & Park, where he won 7 weeks in a roll to become a Freestyle Friday Hall of Famer.  Unlike commerical rappers, Jin's material are from his observation in life and he raps about what's going on in the society.

Here are a couple of his videos:

    1) One of my favorite Jin's song, "Top 5 - Dead or Alive"

    2) A freestyle battle against a rapper called "Verse" - This is where his talent's truly shines...

Good luck ABC Jin, Hong Kong is yours for the taking...
