• Thanksgiving

  Thanksgiving in China is not the same. First off, I don’t get a break to spend time with family. I have classes until 5pm today. Though, my study abroad program is hosting a dinner, it’s just NOT the same. There’s no turkey, it’s Peking duck. =[

  As much as I dislike going up to LA to eat Chinese buffets for a Thanksgiving dinner, I’m really missing it. Of course, not because of the food, but being with my big, BIG Cantonese family! ♥

  I also do miss the days beforehand when I get to spend time with one of my brothers and his roommate in San Francisco. My brother makes really, really good stuffing!! :D

  And, this is the first Thanksgiving I will be away from my whole family, which makes me think of how many more Thanksgiving dinners I will miss if I stay abroad? I’m going to make it a must to always go back to the States, either for Thanksgiving or Xmas, just so I can be with my family.

  I also just found out that my family isn’t going to have a Chinese buffet this year, but actually a homemade meal. I’m really bummed I have to miss this special event! I hope that we continue to keep this tradition. We used to have it and now they are bringing it back! I’m really happy because that’s how it should be! :D

Take advantage of your skill. We believe you're a very determined girl and you have your head in the right place. So do what you have to do. Don't worry about little matters like money, you're a student. You don't have money to begin with, you'll make money later and can repay us then... We love you!
