  • Never Ending Cycle

    Friday, Jun 20, 2008 2:11PM / Standard Entry / Members only

I’ve been super busy with Evance out on business this week and it's my first week at work. My daily schedule this week has been:

6AM: I get up to nurse Keira for a half hour. After I nurse and change her, I stick her in the carseat to pump out the rest.

7AM: I’m usually done pumping around now so I open Kevan’s door to wake him while I go wash/sterilize the bottles and freeze the breastmilk.

7:30AM: After I change and comb my hair, I start to pack. I have my pump bag with bottles for the day to bring to work. I have Keira’s bag of diapers, extra clothes, and milk for the day. I also have my laptop and work stuff. Finally, I get Kevan’s crackers and gummy vitamins. Then I load up the car.

8AM: Drop off Kevan at his preschool which requires me signing him in and walking him to his classroom with Keira in my arms.

8:20AM: Drop off Keira at her daycare which requires me to bring the carseat with her in it, sign her in, fill out a questionnaire about her sleep, poops, and eating patterns throughout the night, and putting away her bottles, clothes, and diapers.

8:45AM: Get to work and just have time to put away my pump bag and bottles, grab a cup of decaf, and then start my back to back training meetings all day except for the 1 hour break for lunch. I have to leave meetings partially just to pump once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

5PM: Pack up my stuff pump stuff and laptop stuff to pick up Keira.

5:15PM: Pick up Keira and figure out how she did for the day, signing her out.

5:45PM: Pick up Kevan with Keira in my arms getting him to wash his hands and signing out with his daily report.

6:10PM: Get home, unload car and Kevan into his shower.

6:30PM: Get him eating leftovers while nursing Keira

7PM: I eat and clean up

8PM: Start getting Kevan ready for bed

9PM-10PM: Put Keira to bed after she’s done being changed and nursed again

10:30PM-11PM: I go to bed after I check mail like now :)

3AM: Wake up to nurse Keira

Then the cycle starts all over again!  When is this going to end??

  • My New Job!

    Tuesday, Jun 10, 2008 11:53AM / Standard Entry / Members only

After being out of work for over a year and on bedrest for the majority of my pregnancy, I had been itching to get out.  While I was pregnant, I submiited my resume to one company that really interested me.  As it turned out, the timing was perfect!  They called me nearly a month later after I delivered Keira and when she was a few weeks old, I had a couple phone interviews and an onsite interview.  I start next Monday at LiveOps as one of their Client Services Managers!!  They are very similar to my last company L2 in that they're both Software as a Service companies with a technological platform and a service side.  There are a few perks such as having lunch brought in every Tues/Thurs, a massage once a week, a room for me to pump/store breastmilk and wash/sterilize my bottles, & a few more things I can't remember now.

To prepare for my new job, I did a couple of spontaneous things.  First, since I hate wearing makeup, I had my eyeliner tattooed but it's very thin and natural without a tail so most people don't even notice it.  It just makes me look like I have more eyelashes.  Usually my eyeliner smudges throughout the day and then my skin gets irritated when I use makeup remover.  Then since my freckles and skin tags got bigger during my pregnancies, I had them all lasered on Friday.  Now my face looks like a chocolate chip cookie but I'm told that it will all scab and fall off by Friday.  Now I don't need to wear foundation to cover it all up.

I also bought a couple dresses from Bebe since I can't fit into my dress pants.  There were a couple dresses I liked but this dress design fit me so well I got another dress in a different color.  I also bought some shoes at the half yearly sale at Nordstrom and for some reason it was much cheaper than at Neiman's but I can't find it on Nordstrom's site at the moment.

As for the family, everyone's doing well.  Keira went on her first trip to Las Vegas a couple weeks ago and was a complete angel on the plane.  She didn't fuss a single moment and slept the majority of all 4 flights!  We only used ONE diaper from home to my mom's house and ONE diaper from her house to ours.  I feel so fortunate that she's a MUCH easier baby than Kevan was.  Less milk to pump, less pooping, and less spitting up.  Good thing, I'd hate to see all the cute dresses stained.  Too bad she's starting fulltime daycare soon, the dresses are too cute for her to wear so she'll be in mostly onesies and sleepwear on top.  I'll try and put up more pics of her later.....

Hi all, I've still been home for the majority of the month, Keira is now 5 weeks old.  I've been off pain meds a week now so doing better and just being careful in general.  We had her Red Egg & Ginger party yesterday with a couple hundred of our family and closest friends in the Bay Area.  One of them is my father's good friend Dr. Charles Nip.  As it turns out, his grandson was recently on Regis and Kelly.  Take a look:

  • Hit 3rd Trimester Today!

    Saturday, Jan 19, 2008 10:06AM / Standard Entry / Members only

I hit 28 weeks today and had my 7th ultrasound.  Good news is that the baby looks healthy and normal, the echogenic bowel from 2nd trimester is gone.  Keira is slightly taller/bigger for her age, around 62 percentile but that is not necessarily from the diabetes, it could be Evance’s genes since Kevan was also tall when he was born.  She’s actually neck and neck with Kevan at 2.5 pounds so at a half pound/week, she would also be about 6 pounds if she came at 35 weeks as he did.

Bad news is that Keira has already “dropped” and I knew it since I felt it happen a week ago.  I had to do the intravaginal ultrasound after the regular one to check my cervix.  They said if it had changed or was shorter than before, they were going to admit me into the hospital TODAY—EEK!  Luckily, my cervix is the same so they sent me home for bedrest.  Now I just have to hope Keira stays in another 9 weeks to make full term.

Good thing we ordered the carseat today which is backordered 2-4 weeks.  Most of the 0-3 mos clothes have been bought from the Janie and Jack sale this week since I'm not having a baby shower.  Just a few more details and we'll be ready!

  • Enjoying the Holiday Season

    Saturday, Dec 22, 2007 1:27PM / Standard Entry / Members only

Happy Holidays everyone!  This month has gone by more quickly than I thought.  Besides dealing with the weekly hospital/doctor visits, I'm still seeing my 3 other pregnant friends for lunch at least once a week and getting plenty of shopping in.  At my last doc visit, I was told that because of my high risk level, I will need an EKG, an opthomologist report, and another special blood test which measures my blood glucose levels over the last few months.  Hopefully all of those along with my 7th ultrasound next month will prove that baby Mok will be ok, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

In the meantime, my family and I are going to Las Vegas again for my dad and step mom's 10 year anniversary.  My mom and step father also happen to live there so I'll get to see them all for the holidays.  It should be a pretty fun week, even if I can't enjoy all the food or walk too much, at least the atmosphere will be festive.

Peachey came by again last week, she got to see the remodel so far.  We expect our c arpet to be installed next Sat so hopefully we can start Phase II of our remodel soon.

Stella also came by last night with her hubby for burgers.  They got suckered into playing Guitar Hero with my hubby, he's been addicted to that game since we got it last week.  Even Kevan likes to bang on the drums :P.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well and having a great Holiday season!
