Hello all gorgeous one here.
Haven't been logging in for a while.
Delighted to see so many greetings from all of you here. Thanks & Hugs to all.
Thank you all for all the birthday wishes thru sms, phone, email, mails, facebook and AnD.
Most of my buddies thought that I will be throwing a big bash for my last year in the twenties. This year I wanted something simple instead to make it special.
An outing with my family in the day follow by a casual dinner with my closer friends.
Long before my mum has already requested that I should keep myself free on my birthday. Actually she sounded more like warning than requesting. :p
Then, I was thnking ......She gave me my life... I own my life.... but this very day I think she deserve to own me. Hence, I pushed all jobs away and kept myself free for her despite my busy schedule this week.
This is my birthday....
Birthday Blessing at " Tian Gong Temple". A very colourful temple along Telok Blangah Drive Road. To thank the heavenly god "Tian Gong", To ask for forgiveness and blessing.
Release of life
Know as Fang Sheng 放生
This is a traditional Buddhist practice. The practice of "release of life", that is, buying fish, frogs,Turtles and other creatures from marketplaces and setting them free or even releasing captured marine animals back to sea. It’s a practice of compassion. The idea is that these animals receive a new lease of life while we gains merit by saving them this way.
Mum bought 100 of the froggy and aunt was snapping pictures of the entire practice.
My mother is very grateful that I am healthy and happy. She believes practicing release of life will remind me to remember the basics in life and be thankful for everything.

Visited the Kreta Ayer Seniors Activity Centre.
Bought provisions at supermarket brought it down personally to share with the old folks.
That's all....this is my birthday....A very special day.
Its such a wonderful gift to have all the blessing from so many of you. It is those simple messages that touches... I am sincerely thankful.
PS: I even went to the blood bank but was rejected due to insufficient weight. I just need 1 more kg.

Inspiration or Imitation?

My subject explain my curiosity.A friend of mine in the Art business sent me an email with this picture attached.He said: " I think you were the inspiration of this artist.....I see too many similarities with the image of you from Shanghai Blues..."
" Thats me in Shanghai Blues" I exclaimed. I am quite sure thats me in the first painting.I asked him who's the painter and what's her inspiration behind this piece.It's painted by an indonesian artist name of Astari. He knew of her work from this article about her in C Arts Magazine latest issue sep-oct08. Pg 106.In the article she says she is painting herself and that her reason behind is that "hand pointing: is that she is the woman who can get what she points at."It's in a series of 3. An indonesian version, an indian version and of course mindee's version (The chinese version). Title of the painting is call Contestant.Compare this picture and Astari's painting.
It is really hard for me to believe that she was painting herself. Well ya! When i was taking this picture I imagined that I wanted to seduce this man i was pointing at. But I was pointing at blank space......Am I really Astari's Inspiration? Is she really painting herself?I am quite sure she probably googled or found this picture online or somewhere.....If you are interested.... here's the link to more of her work.We were wondering how much is the painting worth?
