I am TERRIBLE at blogging consistently, replying emails and nowadays, texts. It's as though my brain has gone into 'no-reply' mode. It's not for the lack of things to say/express, just pure laziness. I blame the 140 character phenomenon Twitter. Hopefully after my trip to Yunnan, I'll be better at it. Keep your fingers crossed. In the meantime, keep checking my Twitter... hopefully I'll be able to get internet access on my phone this time round, seeing as trying to update my tweets from Guilin was an absolute failure.

Just a quickie thanks to the guys on/from AnD... it was really AWESOME meeting you all in BJ. Hopefully that will happen again soon.

I'll leave you all now with a thought that just crossed my mind. A couple of weeks back I was reminded of how I once cherished fleeting moments and serendipity and realise how I've stopped paying attention. In the past months (perhaps longer), I've calculated life in time -- seconds, minutes and hours, rather than momentous events and daily celebrations of the things I find beautiful in my world. And for that, the pictures I take and the words I pen, have suffered and become one-dimensional. Perhaps, it's because I've been in this city too long and now take it for granted. While I still answer "I love it!...." when asked what I think of Beijing, it's starting to feel like an over-rehearsed reply. I've stopped taking pictures and I'm unable to continue the city-based screenplay I WAS writing because my heart is just not in it. Hopefully filming in Yunnan and later this month in Fujian will allow me time away and help me find (and see) moments that inspire.

For myself and all of you who are facing a creative block. Lest we forget...

"Voici mon secret. Il est très simple: on ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux. (Here is my secret. It is very simple: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.)"

    Speak to you all soon!
