from Left to right: Donal Thoms-Cappello, Madoka, Lee Perkins
Even thought the flight my co-directors,
Stephanie Argy and
Alec Boehm were supposed to ride got canceled in the last minute night before, they got into the next flight and safely arrived in Edinburgh in the early morning on June 16th. Co-cast,
Donal Thoms-Cappello, Steph, Alec and I went lunch together and went back to the hotel to dress up for the Opening Night.
Here we were (Steph, Alec, Donal and another co-cast:
Lee Perkins) on the red carpet surrounded by the crowd. The Opening Night movie was
Illusionist at such a beautiful theatre that you can't experience in Los Angeles! The film was animated and happened in Edinburgh. It was very sweet but some sadness too. I enjoyed it but there were some people who found it very sad and depressive.
After the movie, we headed to the afterparty, which Steph, Alec, Lee and I didn't stay long and headed to eat something. The funniest thing was that we thought it's still 7 or 8 pm but it's actually after 10 pm!? This happened because it's around the summer
solstice and there was no sunset in Edinburgh!?!? It's the first time to experience and it's weird... haha~
I certainly enjoyed myself, dressing up, walking on the red carpet, meeting a lot of enthusiastic filmmakers whose films were either world premiere or international premiere in such a well-known international film festival, and being re-united with my Red Machine gangs in Scotland!
