  • Amanda in STEPS on TVB Jade......I Come With The Rain

    Thursday, Oct 4, 2007 1:25PM / Press Release / Members only

So last night, was the second night that my drama on TVB Jade was on. It finishes this Friday night. You guys have got to tune in! It's called STEPS and on from 8.30pm till 9.30pm every night this week. I play Amanda, who is a Blackpool Ballroom Dancing Champion who grew up in Hong Kong and comes back to wreak havoc in her fellow dancers' lives. It was so much fun to play! But I think it's so much easier and less stressful to play someone who's nice! Being mean is so hard! Feedback has been interesting. Most people who know me....or don't..... assume that I am very much like my Dolce Vita on screen personality.....all smiles and enthusiastic about the lifestyle, food, fashion, that I introduce to the HK public every week. I also present The Works on TVB Pearl every Tuesday night from 7 - 7.30pm and that will resume on October 16th....but I am always smiling and a happy person......so playing Amanda was a challenge....but also, I think it shocked people because it was SO different from my normal on-screen TV Presenter persona. I am so excited about this website. I think it's awesome. Jason, did you have anything to do with it? I was with Jason Tobin at his wrap party for this movie last year in L.A. and that party in Chinatown was so much fun. I could see that the team all had a great time working with each other....especially the video they showed of the daily rituals of all the cast and crew on set. HILARIOUS! I Come With The Rain is coming to a wrap in 2 weeks time and monsieur Josh left for NYC this morning. It was time for him to go home to his family. This movie is also going to be amazing. I can feel it. At points in the Phillipines, they were shooting on top of piles of rubbish and they were in areas where there was little or no electricity and no drinking water. The director, Tran An Hung, is such a visionary that his shots are like still life works of art. The film has consisted of a LOT of night shoots....and I was lucky to be able to experience that first hand. I like night shoots.....there is a certain peace and calm around. Dragon-I last night though....Naomi Campbell is in town. She is stunning. Have you seen her?
