Maybe I should take this as a sign

**Sorry, this is gonna be long, I think I needed to vent when I was writing it.**
...that I need to lay low and stop partying for a while. I bet my parents would be celebrating if they found out (which is why I'm hiding it from them). What leads me to think this is evident in the following picture. Check out my bad ass clubbing battle scar:

It's like my foot got in a bar fight haha. It looks like it's a little swollen too, but then again I also have short, chubby toes.
So this is how it all went down. I really wanted to go clubbing, especially since my mom wasn't gonna be home, so I tried recruiting people to come out with me. It worked out perfectly too because my friend from San Diego was visiting. One of my other friends suggested Element so I put our names on guestlist there and also at another relatively new club called Sugar, through Asian promoters that I receive e-mails from. I would prefer not to go to an "Asian club" but I figured it would give us options. I lagged and didn't get to Element until around 11:30 and obviously guestlist was long closed by then, so we stood in a line that moved a couple steps every 20 mins. I mean literally 2 steps. Everytime we started to see movement in the line, we took two steps and then stopped. So we decided to check out Sugar. We got to Sugar and there was no line whatsoever. I tried asking about guestlist and all the guy could do was give us 2 discount tix for the 4 girls/2 guys we had. Fine, whatever, better than nothing right? We walked in and obviously, it was full of Asian people. The club isn't tiny, but it isn't huge either, and weirdly, it was kinda empty. When I spoke with the promoter before we went in, he attributed the emptiness to traffic and predicted that it would get packed later on but it never did. Uhh...yeaaaaah, it's not like there's never traffic on the 101 on a Saturday night. What an idiot. I really would not recommend this club. Crowd is ehhh...and so was the music.
Luckily, I was in good company so I still managed to make a good time out of it. But this mishap with my foot was really annoying. The first time it happened (yes, that's right, I got stepped on TWICE), I was walking back to the dance floor from the bar and some drunk girl was dancing recklessly as I walked behind her. She stomped on my foot and it hurt like a mutha! It hurt so much that I just reacted by elbowing her. This time, I didn't even do it on purpose, as a means of retaliation, either! It was completely by accident. Like it hurt so much that I just started flailing my arms trying to catch my balance because I just wanted to grab my foot and fall to the ground. I turned my head to see who it was and even with my elbow to her back, she was oblivious to what was going on (I thought it was a pretty mean elbow to her, I guess not.) And it was STILL throbbing for at least 5 mins after it happened. It was seriously the most painful getting-my-foot-stepped-on experience I've ever had. But eventually, I recovered and was able to continue with the dancing I so desperately wanted to get out of my system.
Later on, there was a group of girls who came into our dancing area, so a few of us started surrounding them and dancing with them in an effort to scare them away. And then, one of the girls stepped on my foot again. This time less painful, but I wasn't gonna have it, so I told her "Please, don't step on my toe." I gently escorted her out of my space and she and her entourage walked away. Then, her fat b*tch of a friend walks over to my SD friend accusing my friend of having pushed her friend. My friend was completely dumbfounded because she wasn't even involved and didn't know what had happened. The girl walked away but was still hanging around and staring us down so I felt the need to explain that it was me and that I had merely asked her friend to not step on my toe. It was loud in the club so all I heard from her was "start shit" so I just said, "I'm not trying to start shit, your friend stepped on my toe and..." I was about to explain to her what if someone were to step on her foot and it hurt like a mofo, but suddenly, the girl who stepped on me, drunkenly came at our group like she was ready to "start shit" and I think I tried to intervene but from what I remember, someone tried to hold me back. One of my other friends, from high school, said the girl said something and then ran away. This is a little blurry because I thought this whole thing was so funny and stupid. When this all happened, I remember noticing she had her promoter badge on and I realized how lame it all was. Some representative she is...which makes me not want to support Friction ever again (the few parties of theirs I've been to haven't been all that great anyway). Seriously, what kinda promoter does that?! But yeah, it really pisses me off because after all that pain my foot had to endure, I was still being nice and polite about it. Usually, I can get belligerent (I guess I wasn't drunk enough then) and I'll start pushing people back and throwing 'bows when I'm getting abused on the dance floor, giving people a taste of their own medicine. Gosh, I am too classy for these dumbass Asian b*tches.
And to think, I wasn't even wearing open-toe shoes! Can you imagine what my foot would've looked like if I did? And although the second girl pissed me off more, I think most of the damage is from the first girl because it hurt so much. Even though I was wearing pumps, she still managed to step on an area on my foot where it wasn't covered by the shoe because if you can see from the pictures, she managed to break skin (on my pinky toe =[ waaah). -
Leona Lewis and America's Best Dance Crew (JabbaWockeeZ)

Hello friends...so I know this isn't so much AnD related (when are my blogs ever though?), but I just wanted to share with you all a few of my faves. I just recently heard this girl on the radio and I am SO in love with all of her music! Her name is Leona Lewis and she is the X-Factor winner (is that right? It's the UK's version of American Idol). Her voice sounds kinda like a cross between Mariah Carey and maybe...Beyonce? Well, she sounds awfully like Mariah, which is pretty damn good. I don't even think most of these popstars out right now have half as much talent as Mariah.
Anyway, check out her music! I can't seem to find the HTML code to embed the video here, maybe because it said embedding was disabled on the Youtube page, so here are the links:

And for some Asian support, the finale of America's Best Dance Crew is tomorrow night and it's down to JabbaWockeeZ and Status Quo. The two Asian teams, Kaba Modern and JabbaWockeeZ, had always been my favorite (more so Kaba Modern because the girls are just as athletic as the guys, which I think is pretty crazy...like how seeing a female breakdancer is always cool; I hope I'm not being sexist but you know, girls have certain physical limitations when compared to guys). So anyway, I was super sad when Kaba got eliminated last week (my brother brought up a good point though, the Asian votes were split between Kaba and Jabba), so now that it's down to the final challenge, I hoping that JabbaWockeeZ will be guaranteed to take the gold because needless to say, they're pretty sick(just youtube them!). I don't know if this link is only accessible to those in the US, but please vote (for JabbaWockeeZ) if you can! You have until Thursday, March 27, 10 pm ET/PT to vote!

Oh and since I doubt anyone even reads this, I'm gonna make a note to SunnyFluffy. Hey SUNNYFLUFFY! I've been trying to comment back to you the last time you left me a comment but I'm unable to because you locked it and I'm not your friend. I couldn't add you as a friend either because I don't know your e-mail address or phone number, which turns out to be a flaw on this site (ya hear Admin Bear?). Can you add me so you know I'm not ignoring you? If you need it, my email address is loleka_2150 at yahoo dot com. Thanks! -
Hmm...free movie or free lunch?

So "Semi-Pro" starring Will Farrell is screening at work tomorrow, but it's also the same time as a creative lunch meeting where Tony Shalhoub from Monk will be a guest. Haha kinda sad that I am thinking in terms of free. But hey, free is always good! -

I got tickets to Kanye's glow in the dark concert! (or whatever it's called...) I was just gonna sell 'em on Ebay but I'm a little curious to go see it...I think the glow in the dark element will be cool. Rihanna, N.E.R.D. and Lupe Fiasco are also performing. I don't like Rihanna and I don't like Kanye's attitude now (I really liked him when he first came out...I liked his preppy style and went to go see him at Usher's concert). I guess N.E.R.D. and Lupe will be worth seeing though. "If you are what you say you are...a Superstar..."
Oh and Boyz II Men were on Don't Forget the Lyrics tonight. *sigh* They are so amazing. I really want to see them in concert again. Why haven't they come back and made new songs?! -
OMG! I can finally quit now.

because I saw AND talked to quite possibly the most famous person I will ever meet hahaha.
The first time I ever talked to a celebrity I saw at work and it happens to be the most famous person I have ever seen in person!
Ready to find out who it is?
I was in the restroom with....drumroll....JULIA ROBERTS!!
So I was walking down the hall to the restroom and I am walking behind a woman with a little girl. At first I thought, "Oh someone brought her daughter...how cute.." and then Julia turns her head to the side and after noticing her profile, I think to myself "Hmm..that looks awfully like Julia Roberts." So when I thought about how it could be Julia, I got super excited, especially when I realized that she was going to use the restroom too!
We got in and she held the door for me (because she was in front of me) and I smiled at her. Inside though, I could hardly contain my excitement. I could hear her talking to her daughter through the stalls and we happened come out at the same time. We were the only ones in the restroom, so I figured, it's now or never. And I said, "She's so cute...." Julia replies, "Oh, thank you." *smile* I asked, "Is this little Hazel?" and she replied "yes.." I asked, "How old is she?" and Julia turns to Hazel and asks "How old are you, huh? Do you know how old you are?" But Hazel was too shy and just ran to hide behind her mom's leg. Julia then proceeds to tell me that she's five. And I ran out of things to say, so I just said "she's cute" again and left the restroom.
Haha I realize this makes me seem like a creepy stalker and that I should probably have introduced myself to her, but I thought, why would she even care who I am? I know that I should treat her just like any other person, in thinking that she wouldn't mind me introducing myself, especially if she is one of the friendlier, less arrogant celebrities (which I hope she is). I wasn't thinking at the time though and I just figured she's too cool for me haha (if you are a celebrity currently reading this, can you please refute for me?). I didn't even think about this until I told my bf the story and he was like "How do you know her daughter's name?" Umm...I read celebrity gossip blogs? Plus, she'll probably be flattered that I actually care about who she is and that I know her daughter's name, right? Right?
Ah well, such is the life of a lowly assistant working at a large talent agency... - More entries >

posted on Friday, Apr 25, 2008 2:43AM [Report]Hi, thanks for the birthday wishes! Yes, "unlimited refills" is usually something you'd hear for drinks, not entrees... It's a unique concept. Even better when the food is delicious.
Wow, that guy David Sides is pretty talented! It sounds so beautiful on piano. I noticed he has videos of playing other songs I like, I'll have to check them out too.
Yeah, I'm pretty much out of the loop with the American music scene nowadays since I'm in HK. That'd be awesome if you could give me some recommendations for any cool, new songs... mainly R&B and Hip Hop! :) And I'll be sure to look up the new Mariah Carey song on YouTube. Thanks a bunch! =D -

posted on Wednesday, Apr 9, 2008 9:12AM [Report]Hey! I forgot to mention that I blow dry my hair. I use a big round brush so that I can have my hair go inwards. I guess it doesn't take me too long, cuz' I don't have too much hair >_<
I go to this salon called Hills Beauty. It's this big peach-colored building on Western and Beverly. The guy who cuts my hair is Charles. He's really good and funny! It's pretty inexpensive, too. $35. Last time I talked to him, he's there everyday except for Tuesdays. (323) 465-7400
Anyway, hope that was helpful :] -

posted on Tuesday, Apr 8, 2008 8:44AM [Report]Hey thanks :] I'm pretty low-maintenance when it comes to my hair, so it has to be easy for me to do. I think it's cuz' I got a good A-line hair cut that it's easy to work with. All I did was grab my bangs upwards, twist a little to create a little poof, and pin it with two bobby pins.
Anyway, thanks for dropping by. JabbaWockeeZ rule. -
