• Malaysian worker dies after being attacked by white tigers at zoo

  SINGAPORE: A Malaysian contract worker died after being attacked by three white tigers at the Singapore Zoo on Thursday.

  The worker has been identified as Nordin Bin Montong. Zoo officials said the 32—year—old had jumped into a moat at the white tiger enclave and was subsequently mauled to death by the white tigers.

  Police said they received a report at 12.30pm about a man sustaining neck injuries at the zoo. Paramedics were called to the scene and Nordin was pronounced dead at 12.45pm.

  Biswajit Guha, assistant director, Singapore Zoo, said: "Prior to the incident, the zookeepers had actually noticed that the contract worker was behaving erratically.

  "He was throwing things around and as he was walking out of the zoo, he passed comments like ’Goodbye, you won’t see me again’. He later cycled back and 5 minutes later, the alarm went off."

  Nordin had jumped off the ledge into the water and once he was inside the enclave, the three white tigers mauled him for five to ten minutes, while 20 zookeepers tried desperately to save him by distracting the animals.

  They were too late, as were the two licensed rifle shooters who were called to the scene.

  As a precautionary measure, the white tiger exhibit has been temporarily closed and the 9—year—old tigers, which came from Indonesia, are in confinement for now.

  Zoo officials said once the police finish their investigations, they would examine if there is a need to further enhance safety measures.

  Singapore Zoo added that it is natural for tigers to pounce on any prey and there is no reason to sedate the animals.

  I was shocked when I read this new. Even if one is set on dying, what a way to choose to leave.  I heard from the new thay he even use a bucket to cover his face and lied down to wait for the tigers after provoking them...

  We brought the boys out for dinner yesterday. It always amazed me that they can be easily happy with such a small matter like eating ice-cream. The smile they give you when they have a tatse of their favourite food is such a treasure.

  There must be a time when I once also behave like them. But it's such a long time agao that I have forgotten all...

• Beyond持久不散的光辉岁月

  风靡一时的人事物往往过了新鲜期，就会被列为“过时”。叱咤80、90年代亚洲乐坛的香港乐团Beyond现今却成为了经典。虽然已解散，但他们在乐迷心目中处于无可取代的地位。坊间流传，他们是没人能取代的天团，歌曲将相传世世代代。这是当今偶像团体无法比拟的。

  

  
  20年的光辉岁月无法轻描淡写，或是以一两首歌来作为代表，但是对世荣而言，《真的爱你》是意义非凡的歌曲。“《真的爱你》是我们四个人的时候，刚刚从地下乐队跑到地面发片。其实刚发片我们也不是太成功的。我们当时也连续发了好几张唱片，到了《真的爱你》就比较受欢迎。我们可以说是走进另外一个地方、另外一个空间。”
  

  

  至于Ah Paul，《海阔天空》则是歌迷们非常喜欢的一首歌，也让Beyond与歌迷们合为一体，所以具有代表性。“玩音乐是和很多东西是连在一起的；当大家都很喜欢这首歌的时候，我也会特别喜欢。我就是喜欢每一次玩这首歌的时候，大家会一起唱、很有共鸣，所以也会变得我最喜欢的，但其实我们还有很多奇奇怪怪的，包括在现场没有玩过的Beyond的歌在里面。”

  

  如果说Beyond在歌迷心中占有重要的地位，那么对于花了人生整段青春期在建立和维持这个乐团的Beyond四子来说，这个乐团就更为重大了。他们将20年的理想与抱负都投注在Beyond里，虽然不是没有回报，但一组人一起工作，再志同道合也无法一切符合每个人的理想，在一起难免会意见不合。分开发展后，却因为Beyond太红而成了他们的阻碍。各别发展后的他们依旧被套在“Beyond的光环”下，难以凭新作得到肯定。

  
  

  

  11月8日的《黄贯中 X 叶世荣 Beyond Next Stage》演唱会二缺一，重点也放在两人离开Beyond后各自组织的新乐团和新作，但演唱会名称却又和Beyond挂钩。这就被人嘲讽是借助Beyond的名义，宣传自己的个人作品。但正如Ah Paul所说，他们永远都会是Beyond的成员。这个关系犹如父子，血脉相通，想断也断不掉。
  
  演唱会取名“Next Stage”意味着Beyond单飞后、两人独自发展后的新阶段，有着“超越自己”的含义。而“爱”——对音乐的热爱——就是这股精神背后的主要推动力。所以再大的讽刺的无所谓。

• 黄贯中叶世荣登场 演唱会隆重引爆

  香港乐团Beyond的两名成员黄贯中和叶世荣、在新加坡室内体育馆的演唱会圆满落幕。单飞后的他们呈献多首新歌旧曲依旧让歌迷疯狂着迷。
  
  观众情绪激动。80、90年代叱咤亚洲乐坛的Beyond，虽然已经解散，但仍然是歌迷心目中无人能取代的天团。
  
  黄贯中和叶世荣这次回到舞台，也向观众介绍了单飞后，各自组织的新乐团和新创作。
  
  演唱会的高潮之一，就是当叶世荣和黄贯中同台演唱Beyond的经典名曲《岁月无声》。两人在表演之余也不忘慈善，将演唱会售卖商品的部分款项，捐给本地慈善机构。
