Friends of my mom invited us to check out some famous stone carvings in this little suburb.
A typhoon hit Wenzhou right after we arrived in the suburb. We were only meant to stay for one night, but we've been here for three nights already. I can't wait to go back to the city, there's not much to do around here as it has been raining every day. My brother is getting crazy of boredom.

On the first day we went into the mountains to eat and swim

It was raining when my mom and brother were in the water. Here they are posing with a goat, haha!

I've never seen so many hens walking around so freely

Hench was getting hungry so I went in for the kill

    TADAAAA!
Neh, it wasn't me who grabbed the hen. They were all too fast. Hench saw how three guys had to run after them to catch one. Very tasty, you can't them any fresher than that!

We had the meal underneath one of these pagoda's.

We're goint to make an attempt to go back to the city today, wish me luck!!!

    This is my brother Hench!

It's the first time for my brother Hench and I to hang together in Asia! I flew to HK to welcome my mom and Hench. It was the first time for him to go to HK after 13 years!

My friends Stanley and Mary arranged a junk trip for us. We went to Lamma island with the boat to have a great sea food lunch.

Even though it was his first time ever to try archery, he got more points than I did! I need to brush up my archery skills!

Now we're in Wenzhou, I will post more pictures next time!

  • Recording with BLACK BOX

    Tuesday, Jul 15, 2008 12:31AM / Standard Entry / Members only

These past two days I got to work for the first time with Black Box in the studio.
The first day was pretty tiring. It was a long day and I was constantly trying to figure out producer Pierre's cryptic instructions. I was happy though to find out that he's a perfectionist like me, but I'm sure that if he had a whip, he would gladly use it! The second day was much easier as I figured out how to interpret his unique language and we managed to finish two duets with the super talented Young Cee!

Tomorrow I'll be going to HK! Yeay! I will be meeting up with my mom and brother who will be flying in from Holland. It's been a long time since my brother visited HK and I promised him to take him clubbing now he has (almost) reached the legal age to drink alcohol! ;P
I told him we can't leave our mom by herself and that we have to take her too. My lil bro got a bit worried. I told him it's ok, I've taken my mom to Volar in Shanghai before, haha!

    Felix is up to something...

Young Cee taking a ciggie break... bad, bad habit!

Pierre shows his real face! You can see what I had to put up with for two days...

This is me inside the recording booth singing my ass off. It was sooo hot inside and I couldn't switch on the aircon as the mic would pick up the aircon noise

Ok, now I have to pack for tomorrow. Goodnight and see you all soon!

  • Long time no blog

    Hey everybody!
It's great to see that AnD is doing so well!!!
    I haven't blogged in a while, so here's a quick one!

I went to a birthday party the other day. The birthday boy was Joshua's dad, Elijah Widjaja.
Joshua, Deborah, Jehnny, Elijah and Yue-Sai

3 Spanish guitarists and two opera singers provided the entertainment.

The cake was designed by Deborah. Elijah is the owner of the Bundcenter in Shanghai, which has a crown on top of the building so that explains this design.
Deborah was saying that she had another version that had the head of Elijah wearing the crown, but she decided not to go for that one as it would be too weird cutting into her own dad's head!

I had a friend visiting from Beijing and for this special occasion Fred "Da Soupgod" Kan decided to cook for us!

Anybody watched Kung Fu Panda? Fred is imitating Po imitating Shifu!
    Good movie btw!

    Delicious seafood pasta!

    Miss Lucky showing her appreciation

We headed off to a very local live venue called the Melting Pot on Taikang lu.
I went there about 5 times within one week as that was my friend's favorite hang in SH...that's a bit too much though... I prefer going to the JZ club. I went to the JZ on a Wednesday and there was an amazing soul band playing!

The Musical "Hairspray" just opened in Shanghai and the run is till the 20th of July at the Shanghai Grand Theatre. I watched it last weekend. I didn't get the chance to watch it when I was in NY, so I'm glad it's here now. I hope "Wicked" will be coming here in the near future!

The story is about a plus sized teenager Tracy Turnblad which dream is to dance on the Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance program based on the real-life Buddy Deane Show and when she wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight.

My dad just arrived in Shanghai so I'll be seeing him later, yeay!
