  • Scribble Art Manifesto

    Tuesday, Jan 15, 2008 8:38AM / Information / Members only

Scribble has been around for many generations, however, seeing scribble as an art form has never been done or never been seen by this manifesto writer. My main mission in creating this art form is to give the general public a resource of outputting creativity. For example, if a writer gets, “writers block,” she/he could funnel their creativity into a different medium until their creativity begins to flow again.

Scribble Art as a genre is much like cubism in it shapes and forms; however, it greatly differs in its methodology. You must start out with a canvas of randomly generated scribbles. Scribbles are defined as in this manifesto as a line that has no influence by any rational thought. These scribbles may not be altered once drawn. Once all scribbles have been drawn, the artist can then begin funneling their creative. From there on out, the artist may only trace the lines that have already been drawn to emphasize the image the artist is trying to create. When the Scribble Artist knows these rules, she/he can break them within reason.

The main reason this form of art can be done by the masses is because you don’t have to be a true artist to complete Scribble Art. Furthermore, the art form is a response to the fact that creativity cannot be taught. The only thing that can be taught is a method in order to achieve creativity. Scribble Art is where you can have unlimited creativity within a limited canvas.

Checkout my album called, "Scribble Art," for some examples of Scribble Art.

  • My words on Art

    Tuesday, Jan 15, 2008 8:27AM / Standard Entry / Members only

“The work of art must seize upon you, wrap you up in itself and carry you away. It is the means by which the artist conveys his passion. It is the current which he puts forth, which sweeps you along in his passion. The pain passes, the beauty remains” said Renoir. There are multiple answers to the what, why, where, how, and when art occurs in our lives. However, the most simplistic way to understand art is to understand one word: reassurance.

We use art to reassure ourselves of our existents as human beings with the ability to change the world. We use art to provoke others to see the creativity within ourselves. We use art to reassure others that we have the power to change the world with our ideas applied to a medium. Whether that medium is paper or film, we use it to continue our existents. Without art, we are no better then the leaves on a tree.

On the other hand, we are the leaves in a tree swaying in the wind; the only difference being, we have the ability to ponder. If you comprise yourself in your thoughts, wrap yourself in them, and they will carry you away. The wind you create with your thoughts will sweep you away. No matter the pain, your thoughts will always continue to sore as long as there is someone else behind you. Art is life, living and continuing.
