  • 《靈聽》"Ghost On Air" in theatres on 17 May!

    Monday, May 14, 2012 9:21PM / Event

《靈聽》"Ghost On Air", the brainchild of local director, Cheng Ding An, and Singapore's famous DJ Dennis Chew, will be in cinemas this coming Thursday, 17 May 2012!
As 2nd Assistant Director and involved in Casting, it was wonderful to be part of this production crew - an unforgettable (first-time feature film) experience behind the camera. Pre-production & production went by slowly, but surely, and I learnt so much every step of the way. It helped that the team felt more like a family with each passing day.
Dennis Chew 崇庆 is a fabulous personality to have on set - non-stop laughter between scenes - and yet, when the camera started rolling, he was extremely professional. The rest of the cast & crew were amazing as well.
Post-production must have been tiring, yet fulfilling, and even though I didn't play an active part, it is heartwarming to see their non-stop marketing and promotional activities. Every single one of us wants to see this film succeed, that's how much we believe in it.
The gala premiere is tomorrow night... So exciting!
Without further ado, take a look at the trailer below!

Remember to catch 《靈聽》"Ghost On Air" in Singapore theatres from 17 May 2012! It will be opening in Malaysia soon!

  • Hong Kong & the Valley.

    Friday, Nov 18, 2011 12:05PM / Standard Entry

    Greetings from HK~!
Back in Hong Kong for a few days before production madness starts in December in Singapore - also in the midst of pre-production mayhem.
My first day back was incredibly fun. Thanks to Jae, I got involved in a shoot here, which was pretty interesting. Got the chance to meet up with Byron as well.
And then "Fashion Styles The Valley" Week 1 at night - also my first time at Happy Valley & watching horse-racing.
Okay, so I didn't bet on any of the horses, although we were tempted to do so for Race 7, but fortunately we didn't, 'cause the horse didn't win!
Here's a pic of Jae & me - had a lovely time out!
Nice meeting up with Desmond - our MC for the event. And the other wonderful people who were there that night too.
I never knew horse races had such long breaks in-between, but the race itself is less than a minute-long. I guess it's an excuse to eat, drink & be merry - as was evident by the singing & merry-making on our tram out of Happy Valley later in the night!
Great welcome back to HK, even though I'll be gone in a matter of days, but nevertheless, till next time, Hong Kong!

  • Social Media & the restless me.

    Thursday, Oct 27, 2011 7:23PM / Standard Entry

Now with the advent of social media, I find I have a multitude of social media accounts, and no idea what to do with them. How do I become a social media star (assuming I'd even want to be one)?

I guess I should resume my sparse Vlogging - I only seem to do it when I'm overseas i.e. Hong Kong & Australia, because really, how interesting could life be here? And I can't videotape stuff when I'm on set, as tempted as I am to do so. I may be tackled by security. LOL. Just kidding.
Any suggestions as to what I should Vlog about??
Maybe I could teach people... How to Drive Speedily & Not Road-Hog - a personal pet peeve.
I've now officially started my role as Casting Director for an upcoming horror film - “灵听”. And when production starts, I will be morphing into 2nd Asst Director. We'll be filming throughout December - the rainy season! Normally, I love the rain & I get all excited when I hear pouring rain. But when it interrupts a shoot, I'm not that crazy about it.
Traditionally, film crews use chilli & garlic to bring hot weather - I'm not too sure about this superstition though. Haha. Not a very superstitious person here.
And Halloween's coming! I don't celebrate it, ever. But tremendously tempted to celebrate it & dress up this year! A bit late to be thinking of a costume, I guess... Though I'd really love to take on my alternative witch identity - Did I mention I was sorted into Slytherin during my Pottermore experience?   So I'm officially a Slytherin, according to Queen JK Rowling herself.
Anyway, for those curious about my numerous Social Media identities... here's a non-exhaustive list!
And I've got a ton of inactive social media accounts as well. What to do - when you're restless, you're restless. Till next time!

  • Grateful for September.

    Tuesday, Oct 4, 2011 11:16PM / Standard Entry

I haven't updated in over a month! September has been exceptionally exciting & fruitful, and I'm so grateful for many people & many things in my life.
Firstly, the InHerShoes 2011 - Art & Music Against Cancer event went on smoothly. We put together the entire event in just 5 weeks - including the entire venue setup, a 4-hour concert lineup, as well as arts & holistic health stalls - thanks to the help of many volunteers & our partners, National Cancer Centre (NCC) & National Parks (NParks).
And there's me (second from left, first row), with a few of the many people involved in this charity event. We're holding mini-events throughout the next year, starting with a Christmas dinner which will involve the President! Happy that the cancer cause is receiving so much support!
And, before I forget, here's a few photos from my movie shoot in July 2011 - "Durian King". I played a supporting role in this movie, which is currently in post-production. Like us on Facebook!

In September, I was also involved in 2 local Mandarin TV dramas - and one shoot is still ongoing. Add to that an offer (and acceptance, on my part) to be the 2nd Assistant Director & Casting Director on an upcoming horror movie to be filmed in December 2011, as well as a short film I'll be acting in, it's going to be busy times ahead.
Looking forward to 2012, with 2 potential movie projects in the pipeline, and many more opportunities! 2011 is shaping up to be a pretty awesome year, after all.

    AllForHope Viral

This year, I'm involved in organising INHERSHOES - ART & MUSIC AGAINST CANCER - a cancer fundraiser involving a host of local celebs who will be performing, including Adrian & Tracie Pang, Jack and Rai, Joanna Dong, Linda Black & many others.

To spread the word, we've created a video that will hopefully go viral & help us get more people coming on the 17th September! Proceeds go to cancer research.

So, please help spread the word. Even if you're on a different continent, or can't make it on the night - the tickets are donation-based, so you can still donate that way online. The amount you want to give is entirely up to you. You can get them via www.inhershoes.sg
