林家棟，1988年參加香港無線電視藝員訓練班第十五期加入演藝圈。在1989年至1996年於電視劇中演過不少令人留下印象的角色（如：「蓋世豪俠」、「原振俠」、「天子屠龍等」）。直到1996年，「河東獅吼」的蘇東坡和「新上海灘」的丁力，開始演出第二男主角，之後於「大鬧廣昌隆」、「林世榮」、「布袋和尚」、
「碧血劍」、「茶是故鄉濃」、「酒是故鄉醇」等戲劇作男主角，2001年演出「美麗人生」的戴福生之後，就沒再演出連續劇，轉移參與電影的演出。
