    Hello all,

Last weekend was one of the best I have ever had. I went on a backpacking trip to Cache Creek, which is about 1.5 hr NW of Davis. This was my very first backpacking trip and I was super excited and determined to take gazillions of pictures.

When I was packing my backpack the night before, I made sure that everything on the checklist was in the backpack. Toothbrush, check. Lunch, check. Water, check. Camera, check.

When we arrived at the entrance of the trail and started hiking, I thought that I'd get a picture of the beginning of the hike so I pulled out my camera, pressed the on/off button, and..................................... Great. OF COURSE I would be the kind of idiot who takes out the battery of her camera the night before such an important trip and forgets to put it back in the next morning before she leaves for her trip.... So yeah, I didn't get a single picture from the trip. However, other people of the group took some pictures so I'm just gonna show a few of those here...

This was probably taken the second day on our way out of the valley. The scenery was just breathtaking

    Another picture of the valley

    Setting up a tent

The morning of the second day. The sleeping bag outside of the tent is mine. Apparently I was the only one who slept outside that night. It was worth it though. You could see millions of stars and I was impressed with myself for pointing out the Big Dipper

Cache Creek. We filtered its water for drinking and cooking

    Everybody

    Beautiful clouds

Such trip wouldn't be complete without a camp fire. We had s'mores too!

    Tents and backpacks

Those are my feet trying to put out a fire

So that's pretty much it. I really enjoyed myself out there and plan to do it again. In fact I am going to Yosemite this weekend to learn how to take stunning outdoor photos. I think it'll be just car camping though. So we don't have to take our backpacks with us with everything in them and hike 5 mi everyday. I'll definitely bring my camera WITH THE BATTERY this time, since it'll be quite pointless if I don't (this is going to be a photo workshop)... Anywho... I'll post the photos after I get back.

To whomever actually reads my blog,

Welcome to my blog! I was quite excited to discover this place where fans can actually connect with the artists that they like! This is something that I've never tried before and am quite excited about it.  I have to admit that I am more of a facebook person than a blog person, but I'll try my best to update this thing when something interesting happens in my life (which might not be very often).

Anyways, there's really not much to say, given that I don't know to whom I am writing. I'm just gonna leave you guys with a question: How do you define an artist? Now, I think that people who can belch their ABCs are definitely artists. They not only have to control when to belch, they also have to form their mouth in a way so they can pronounce the letters while they do it! I think it is quite difficult (Believe me, I have been trying for quite a while and haven't even come close). Also, I never thought of myself as an artist, but come to think of it, I work at a wildlife museum as a study skin preparer (NOT taxidermist!) who skin and stuff dead animals and make them look all pretty in the end, doesn't that make me an artist? Because, believe me, this takes a lot of skills and experience and a few weird-looking end products along the way...

Oh good, you're still reading that means you are not freaked out by my weirdness and are more than welcome to check back for more updates! Ciao for now!
