India is a country creating a greater quantity of engineers than any other country in the world. Nearly 3 million graduates in various streams come out of the Indian colleges every year. Thousands of private companies are waiting with vigor to lure the aspiring young minds with great salaries and diverse other facilities. Only a tiny proportion of graduate students proceed to complete post graduation studies.

Others find a job in an MNC, call center, or a software company. Government jobs, which were considered an excellent prestige in 80s and 90s, have nearly lost their charm between the urban youngsters. Youngsters originating from rural areas especially girls, still consider government jobs as a better option compared to the private sector jobs. There are numerous reasons for this.

  1. People living in rural areas have little exposure to the latest developments and IT boom in the country.

  2. They do not search for very high salaries. All they want is really a secure job which will retain them till their retirement.

  1. Government employees receive enormous respect in the people living in rural areas. Therefore the poor parents dream of making their children a government employee.

There are various causes of urban youngsters preferring private sector jobs over government jobs. Government jobs don't provide lucrative salaries like the private sector. The infrastructures in many of the government offices are extremely poor. The luxurious offices, exuberant lifestyle, fashionable cars and accessories are objects of distant dreams to many of the government employees.

'A' grade officers having over twenty years of expertise within the public sector jobs generate the same amount a fresher earns in an IT company. Do government jobs not have anything appealing to draw the town youth? They provide a chance to serve the folks, run the nation and assure employment to a certain extent. Here is a small eye opener for our youth fascinated with private sector jobs.

  1. Government jobs give you a chance to work for your country, instead of serving another country.

  2. After the sixth pay commission recommendation, government employees also get very high salaries.

  3. There are numerous benefits in a government job like easy pension plans, provident fund, LTC, etc.

  4. The work pressure in public places sector jobs are quite less when compared to work pressure in private sectors. Government offices are becoming modernized and computerized day by day.

  5. There is enough employment and you don't have to be worried about the sudden pink slips, if you don't have done something terribly wrong. Because of this, you are able to avail various loans in the banks easily.

  6. Central government tasks are a little hard to land. However they ensure the posh lifestyle offered within the private sectors with very little work pressure.
