• Woh! Old King Ly Chee + Josie videos!

  Okay...so I was bored at home last night and I, totally embarrassed to admit this, searched King Ly Chee on youtube just to see what videos were up from playing all over the place. And lo-and-behold out pops old videos of when we (with the old KLC line-up: kevin, riz, alex, andy) rearranged some songs for Josie and played them LIVE at City University in 2004...
  
  I remember that the whole vibe at the show was a bit weird and you can tell that Josie was a bit bummed by the lack of a better reaction...I don't think we played that bad and she is an amazing singer so i don't think it was us that played like crap...or was it? No idea...
  
  Watching over these videos I am proud of how we rearranged those songs!!! :-) A little pat on the back is deserved if I do say so for the KLC crew :-)  Hahahahaha...I also remember lugging those damn amps and  cabinets especially for this show - you see those 4 cabinets that both Andy and I are using? Yeah - we brought those damn things to the show...Looking back now, it was well worth it!

  The audio recording is not bad!!! Especially since it's obviously just a videocam...
  
  Josie - you rule!!! We should do a KLC+Josie thing again soon and get K-Chai back on drums especially for it! :-)

• Beijing Calling...

  hell yeah...beijing here we come...for the second time in one fucking year! that's crazy...we were just there in April opening for NOFX and now we're going to be back this weekend to play a HUGE Metal Music Festival at 13 Club on Sept. 30 and then the HUGE Modern Sky Music Festival on Oct 2. the modern sky music festival is estimated to have over 10,000 people at the show! it's going to be rad...

  can't wait to be up there in the freezing cold! :-) hahahaha...but it doesn't matter, just being in a musical climate where ALL sorts of music have a HUGE following is a great thing...a great way to encourage you to keep up the fight. if we don't have opportunities to leave HK and play outside - this band would've ended a long time ago. there's just no room for bands like us to survive here unless you're just doing it for "fun" and not really interested in making it your life. that has been our goal since day one...we'll probably never ever make this our "lives" because this is after all Hong Kong...but we'll at least know that when we're 50 or 60 years old that we tried our fucking best to make this as close as we can get to living out our dreams...

• Oh shit...

  Damn...its been awhile sorry everyone for not updating this thing!
  
  We were busy in July recording our new CDep (6 songs) that will be released in China under Modern Sky Records! It's a big deal for us and we're psyched to be able to have something of ours released LEGALLY in Mainland China! hahahaha...all our previous records (We Are Who We Are, Stand Strong, Under One Flag) were all imported illegally and sold pretty underground...but this will be released in all major cities so that's a big deal for us! We hope you all understand just how big a deal it is - we're not a commercially friendly band, don't have the "look" that would invite interest from major record labels, our music has no pop hooks that would attract the attention of the masses, so to STILL have record labels interested in us regardless of all that - it's amazing. This would never happen in HK and so for bands like us to survive, we unfortunately have to look outside of HK to keep the fire burning in our hearts.
  
  Anyway - it'll be out in September and we can't wait to get it out and see what happens next. We're flying out to Beijing in October (second time this year!!!) to perform at the Modern Sky Music Festival which we're excited about.
