• 3 more days until our band new UNITE ASIA EP pounds you in the head!!! :-)

  that's right 3 more days...
  
  because this is an online thing only we are still busy working on getting the website that will host this thing ready. as many of you know this EP will be in two version: a chinese version and an english version...with that comes a shitload of other issues...the website that will host the EP will therefore also have to be one for English and one for Chinese! damn...mad amounts of work. plus this EP isn't being hosted on our own website but on China's biggest metal magazine called Painkiller's website: www.painkillermag.com
  
  so on Jan 30, if we can keep all our tech issues in check, we'll be able to launch this badass EP for all of you to download for FREE!!!
  
  then you have a few days to learn the songs and meet us at The Fringe Club on Feb 2 as we headline the HK Live event! one bad news - our drummer boy, Man, is out because his wrist totally got fucked. he's going to see if he'll be able to play a couple songs on saturday...but we're recruiting our brother Mike from Shepherds the Weak to see if he can play a couple of our songs to give Man a break in between songs...we're going to work on that today (sunday) and see how that works out...

• Vientiane - chilling...

  hanging out in vientiane...the capital of a little country called Laos that is surrounded by: China, Vietnam, Thailand, and Myanmar (used to be called Burma)...
  
  i had NO idea what to expect before we came here (my girlfriend and i) and i have to say that i was totally surprised that this "capital" city was more like a tiny little town. i didn't do the proper research obviously, because once i got here i was like where the hell are all the people?! i looked it up and found out this capital city only has 350,000 residents!!! what the hell!?!??! more like a small town! hahahaha...but it's been great visiting this place which is still pretty much like it has been decades ago...untouched with commercialization or globalization. yes, there are lots of backpacker type people...and there are quite a few guesthouses and hotels, but overall, the people here all look like they're still living in the 80's. even the "local" pop music that we hear everywhere reminds me of 1980's Beyond! every time hear this one particular Lao song we start singing the Beyond version! hahahahaha...
  
  i thing a great sign of this city is that there are no mcdonalds and no starbucks...can you believe that? there's actually a capital city on this plane that doesn't have either one of these things! it's awesome - forces all these "guai lo" backpackers to enjoy the LOCAL food for once! actually, there are a bunch of "diner" type of places that make western food and that's where you find all the "guai lo's"...
  
  i'll upload photos from this trip when i'm back in hong kong on sunday night...

• Has it really been that long?!

  Dude...it says our last blog to this thingy was in october...it's not December 30th!
  
  Well if you are supporters you know where to be going to check up on us anyway! :-) That's www.kinglychee.com which i update everyday...
  
  Anyway, what an insane year it's been...ending it with an incredible show with our bestfriends in HK Shepherds the Weak by our side and on stage with us, as well as all the hundreds of people that made it out to this show, was the best...we couldn't have asked for a better way to finish the year...
  
  What's up in January you ask? Alright, I'm sure you didn't ask, and I'm sure most people on this site have never even heard of us...BUT I'm going to tell you anyway! :-)
  
  Since August 2007 we've been recording a new 6 song EP. FINALLY on January 30th we're going to be releasing this ep. It's a HUGE deal for us because it's the first time that we're going to release something that has 2 versions. One version of the 6 songs will be how we normally sing - a mix Cantonese, Mandarin and English. The second version is totally English. We've never done that before and we're excited to have this all recorded and ready for people to check out.
  
  The next good thing - the EP is TOTALLY FREE!!! It's a download ONLY EP and you will be able to download it from a special site on Jan 30...
  
  We're working with 7 different labels from all over Asia and a label in Sweden on this project...so if you're into King Ly Chee then don't forget to hook up this FREE deal...
  
  Okay...going to bed...I still have to go over to our regular website and update that...tomorrow I'm off to Laos...so happy new year everyone! thanks for all the love and support in 2007...2008 marks the 9th year of King Ly Chee...9 FUCKING years!!! Who would've ever thought...
