3 commentsI have been listening to jamie lidell for the past month...one of the coolest albums i've heard in a while. He sounds like Stevie Wonder when he was in his early 20's also a bit like curtis mayfield, donnie hathaway and a bunch of 1970's soul artists. The arrangements are very throwback and quite authentic..."another day" reminds me of "uptight everything is alright" or "signed, sealed, delivered"(s. wonder) and "little bit of feel good" sounds like stevie's "have a talk with god" and "i wish" morphed together. jamie's "green light" is like an al green groove mixed with a bit sly and the family stone's "if you want me to stay"...it's like an accumulation of the coolest elements of 70's soul. The other thing is...he wears glasses...too...jamie lidell.
this is his latest cd but his previous album "multiply" is worth checkin out also...check the new album first.
