I’ve been so busy lately that I have no time to update this blog!
Sorry, I should stop finding excuses for myself and resume my blogging…

Recently I’ve been absent from my friends’ gatherings.
I feel guilty about having to constantly reject friends’ invitation.
But I’m sure they will be understanding enough to excuse me for being MIA for this period.

Gonna enjoy this precious lunar new year vacation.
Then it’s back to my hectic lifestyle again.

When I’m done with my stuff, I’ll be back in action once again.
Hopefully my friends still remember me.

Wish everyone a happy lunar new year.
    I’ll see everyone soon!

Woo hoo I’m one year older. Strangely I don’t feel sad or happy about it. I’m feeling quite neutral about getting older. (laugh) This year I decided to have no celebrations for my birthday, just a simple dinner with my family. Mum bought me a birthday cake though and I love it!

    My favorite Spongebob Squarepants!

I was in the mood to cook so I cooked wonton soup for dinner.

    I’ve prepared a pot of chicken stock…

Spent some time wrapping the wontons…

Cooked the wontons in the chicken broth

Wah la… here’s my version of wonton soup!

Actually I didn’t cooked all the wonton as my family were full after gorging my birthday cake. Oops, perhaps I should just get a small cake for myself next year.

As part of my birthday tradition, I shall share the birthday messages from my loved ones!

  • my graduation ~starting over~

Year 2011 is coming to an end… Time to do a round up for the year. Honestly this year is a much better year than 2010. Perhaps it is due to the fact that I am done with studies and no longer have to fret over the preparations for examinations and rushing to complete my assignments before the dateline. (laugh) My long vacation in Hong Kong helps to relax my mind but guess what… my energy was all drained out within a month after I returned to Singapore. Oops! Who would have know that the lifestyle here in Singapore can be so exhausting.

I was thrown into a foreign environment when I went to Australia to study. So that was the time I am forced to grow up and I have somehow got used to the Australian working culture. People are very straightforward over there and everyone is addressed by their first name. But coming back here to work, I have to learn to accept the differences between the laid back western and conservative Asian working cultures. There is also the challenge of having to interact with Singaporeans. Having spent more than 16 years of my life here in Singapore, I still haven’t got used to the lifestyle here. After all, I have been living in a protected environment (just like those animals kept in the zoo enclosures) and I hardly have the opportunity to interact with “the real world”. It came as a big shock to me when I encountered racism in my home country when people mistook me as “foreign talent”. (laugh) But I am slowly getting used to it, it is quite amusing when people mistook me as a foreigner in my home country. It serves as a reminder to me never to treat a person differently because of their nationality or skin color. I never want to make another person to feel the same way as how I feel after encountering racism.

This year has been an eventful and challenging year for me. I have learnt so much and grown stronger in many aspects (though people may not see it). Hopefully year 2012 is going be a better year for me and I will continue to grow and work towards being a better person.

    Love & Hope

Looking forward to the end of Year 2011.

The end of a thing marks the start of another brand new thing.

I will be fine… I’m gonna keep moving.

Working hard towards the closure of this current chapter.

    Love & Hope

Year 2011 is coming to an end soon! Time passed so fast… its been almost a year since I graduated from college. Last year I was busy preparing for my graduation and packing my luggages in Brissy. I remembered feeling quite happy, relaxed and excited because I was finally done with my studies and mum was coming over to spend the festive season with me. Things are quite different this year… Here I am in Singapore working my life away and having little time for myself, family and friends.

This is not my first time working but somehow I am quite upset about sacrificing my personal time for work. Maybe it is due to the difference in wages between down under and Singapore… I don’t mind giving up my leisure time if there is the monetary value to compensate for it. But this is my first full time job in Singapore so I will do my best to secure the job even though I’m not exactly liking the job. I’m hoping that I will receive a better job offer from overseas very soon then I can fulfil my dream of leading an expatriate lifestyle.

Christmas is coming soon and this year I’m spending a longer time doing the Christmas shopping. Maybe its due to the lack of variety in choices of Christmas gifts as compared to down under. Or it could be due to my fickle-mindedness that is delaying the gift shopping process. I have a feeling that I will be absent from the year-end festive gatherings with friends so I want to put in more effort in getting gifts that will put a smile on their faces. Hopefully they will not forget me! (laugh) I can’t help feeling insecure about my relationship with my loved ones because I haven’t been spending enough time with them!!

For the month of December next year, I hope I will be able to lead a happier life, having a better job and the time to spend the festive season with my loved ones. I’ll keep praying for a better future.

    Wish me luck.

    Love & Hope
