  • NINJA ASSASSIN - November 25th. Starring RAIN.

    Monday, Nov 9, 2009 2:39AM / Members only

Many of you may have already heard of Ninja Assassin, produced by Joel Silver and the Wachowski Brothers (aka the makers of The Matrix) and directed by James McTeigue. All very big names.

And unlike Speed Racer - which was Rain's official Hollywood acting debut, he is the main in Ninja Assassin with his script being 90% of the film.

Although Speed Racer had low box office numbers considering the cost of production, I see things very different for Ninja Assassin. This film is a lot more significant for Rain's Hollywood acting career, and his career in general because this can be considered HIS film with him being THE MAIN.

Along with many in the industry, the makers and cast, I also have very high hopes for this film. EVERYONE REMEMBER TO CHECK IT OUT~

    Showing:
    November 25th (US)
    November 27th (UK)

    (see below for other Countries)

     Official Website: http://www.ninja-assassin-movie.warnerbros.com/

Also a big bonus, RAIN IN TIMES SQUARE!!!!
Well, Ninja Assassin- WHICH IS RAIN ANYWAY!!! This is seriously awesome because I know when Rain was preparing and training so hard for the movie surviving only on egg, chicken breasts and veggies for that Bruce Lee body (which also resulted his body having 0% fat - argh scary) his motivation was the outcome of the movie and to see his billboard in Times Square and omg HE'S THERE!!!!

  • elavndrc: ''I envy those who know what they want in life and do everything they can to reach their goals. It's a good way to be.''

    Friday, Oct 16, 2009 9:22AM / Members only

(Rain pics explained at the end)

elavndrc's (http://www.alivenotdead.com/elavndrc) comment taken from her profile really moved me. It's a short, simple comment but I was quite touched by it. Why? Well, I feel like I'm one of the people she envies. It really is a great thing to have a big aim in life, a sort of dream. If I talk about people around me, I can safely say that there isn't much people that do have this strong passion to achieve a certain something in life. And by that I don't mean, go to College, go to University and then get a job and make money and babies. I mean, that for some people is what they want to achieve in life and if they do, good on them. They're happy. However, this may not be the lifestyle other people want to choose therefore don't force this on everyone. It's about individual needs because there isn't just one road to live your life. I am constantly bashed with people telling me to live in, what I call their archive of life.

To break away from this ''archive'' I have to sacrifice a lot of ordinary things that a 19 year old girl should have done or should be doing. This sacrifice to other people is known as crazy. Well I don't actually tell people my ''goal'' but not because I'm trying to make things worse for myself, but they won't understand for sure, things get complicated and they won't just think I'm crazy but mad, bad and sad. I am willing to take these sacrifices and become a strange odd one between friends and family. I don't think anyone can ever truly understand unless they feel the fire themselves.

So you have this dream and you want to achieve it, you make sacrifices and the people around you think you're crazy. What can get any worse? Oh yes, the main goal. ''Will I ever make it?'' This is a scary question and it's what scares me the most. I can get over people thinking I'm a waste girl, thinking I'm crazy, sacrificing what I feel I should, but what if all this is not paid off? What if you don't make it? Am I making the right decisions? Am I going in the right direction? I don't doubt my goal, but I fear whether the route I take to get there is correct and the most powerful dream killer of them all, the fear of failure.

So what do you do? Well unless you can see into your future there's nothing you can do except do your ultimate best and wait. To have this passion you have got to be strong. If you can make sacrifices you can't afford to loose confidence. It happens and you feel like shit, but the passion and determination that you hold can win. If it doesn't win, it's called giving up. Giving up is a bad thing when wanting to achieve something. We all have them thoughts of just giving up and giving in. Many times I have wanted to give in because it gets emotionally stressing. But that's just a split second of my emotionally stressing mind because in the end, my passion wins.

It's tough. I guess that's why during times like these you need music to lift your spirits and of course an inspiration to, well inspire you. I guess I'll have to thank Rain (which explains his pictures throughout, well also because he's brilliant to look at)~ His past, present and future screams hard-work and passion. And that's an understatement.

I wonder if any of you out there was at that point in life and has now achieved you're goal in life...... :)

  • It's still 1:59pm. It's a scary World.

    Friday, Oct 2, 2009 11:02AM / Members only

What time is it? It's 1:59pm.
Fans of the very popular, sexy South Korean 7 member boyband 2PM, JaeBeom (Jay Park), Junsu, Nickhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Junho, Chansung- nicknamed ''beastly idols'' because of their strong charismatic singing, rapping, dancing, B-boying, acrobatics stage presence - should know what this is about.

2pm are really talented, hard-working and passionate and their company and producer is worthy of my great respect for showing passion for music and performing and bringing such amazing talents into the industry.

I'm writing about this because I'm a massive fan and I've had a huge impact on this.

Although this issue may be a trivial matter to people who are not interested in 2PM or KPOP, but this issue has once again brought out a very scary, nasty side to entertainment and the people who follow it, including the media and netizens.

To sum up (not sure if I can shorten such a long story and make it clear)-
The leader of 2pm, 22 year-old Jay Park (Park Jae Beom pictured above), a Korean-American was recently involved in a major controversy after his old Myspace comments written to his friend 4 years ago, was dug up, where he was found saying "Korea is gay.. I hate Koreans"

After this was made public netizens (people online) and the media went craazy. Netizens poured in with hateful comments and it went so extreme that there was a petition made telling him to committ suicide. The petition was found and taken down (but only after 3000 people actually signed it- sickening or what)

In this case there are many issues starting from the major cultural differences, the lack of understanding from viewers and the unexpected, unnecessary outcome.

Even after an offical apology from Jay and an official aplogy from the company the people were still not letting things go. Only 4 days after this was made public, Jay announced through his fan forum that he will be resigning as a member of 2pm and going back to states to study Music. This was later confirmed by his company. He took his flight back to the states on the same day, leaving behind 500 desparate crying fans at the airport begging for him not to leave. He was seen constantly bowing and apologising to everyone present.

This outrageous result from a blown-out of proportion deal has highlighted many issues.

First of all the comments that Jay Park made are not acceptable, but there are many significant factors that everyone should have considered. First, I'm sure people who speak english as a first language or people who has grown up in western countries know that teens especially, use the word hate and gay very lightly. A sort of show of dissatisfaction of their situation. It doesnt mean it's right, but that's how it is.

However this important cultural point was not taken on at the time by most of the netizens in Korea, and to make matters worst, it was translated into something a lot more serious that what it meant.

Another obvious point is the comment is 4 years old. 4 years ago during a time where he left the place he grew up in, the place his family and friends are in and the place he was most familiar with to a completely new country where he could hardly speak the language. Training to become a singer in Korea is no easy job at all. Moving to a whole new country and training to become a singer is even harder.

It has been 25 days since he has left 2pm and Seoul but fans are not having it. In the 25 days 2pm fans have gone to many lengths in order to protest against this. From a silent (and very civil) protest with about 2,000 fans sitting outisde the company buiding in Seoul, to boycotting all products and merchandise of the company. This includes a no show/support of a 6 member 2pm which means not attending shows/events- an example, a special event which allowed 100 lucky people to go on a trip with a member of 2pm being cancelled due to the drastic booking cancellation from participants leaving only 30 people left. Around 3000 2pm CDs were also handed back to the company.

Reason.. not because they are selfish or crazy, but this whole situation with him resigning happened  too quick and too easy. They are protesting against the company that, according to fans are the ones who forced Jay out rather than it being Jay's own decision.

Many people quickly assume that fans are just demanding for his return with no consideration which is NOT what they are asking for. They understand that he needs time to reflect, time to get away from the mayhem before it gets even more out of hand, but they just need the confirmation that he will be back and that his dream that he as worked for for 4 years is not smashed up in 4 days. Another action from 2pm fans were posters and advertisements in newspapers which writes this,

“4 years, the amount of time he took to change his thinking from Jay Park to Park JaeBum.
4 days, the time when his dreams were collapsed”

2pm fans also showed their sincerity to the society and felt like taking some responsibilty because of Jay's comments by giving back to the society. They are involved in continuous charity work, donating not only money but time to various charities, and also donating blood again (not the first time. They've donating blood in 2pm's name before as a gift to the guys- definitely an amazing present).

Also they have concentrated on cheering the guys up. From doing flash mobs dancing to 2PM's hit song Again & Again to re-creating Jay's dance breaking into animation and even international 2pm fans who actually flew a plane with the banner ''J. What time is it?'' (the common phrase said by the Jay which answeres 2PM) around his house (fans did their best to protect his privacy but that went all down the drain after a (US) national news programme broadcasted his house.. how F*cking clever news program!)

    Screen cap from the animation

    Video:

With all these actions, they want the withdrawl of his resignation because they feel like this is not what Jay chose, but rather the companies quick solution to the situation.

The company and the company's founder/producer released statements discussing the issue but the fans did not accept them, as statements seemed ambigous and meaningless with no mention of the future of 2pm, and rather than trying to show some sort of responsibility for their ''pupil's'' mistake, the blame was placed on Jay Park for ''being a bad teen''. The fans are angry that the company is unable to protect their own artist and give up on them when they are the most vunerable.

There are many speculations and rumours after this exploded. Many that are all too much to name. I also don't want to re-write them and accidently get them taken wrongly as facts.

There are loads more on this story but I'm afraid of writing it and getting my facts wrong because this stuff can get pretty sensitive.

There are also continuous projects to help get Jay Park back.

Left to Right: Junsu, Jae Beom (Jay), Woo young, Nickhun, Junho, Chansung, Taecyeon

Being in Beijing....I don't get that feeling of being in a soap opera. haha. It's quite developed and except for being surrounded by so many Chinese, it actually doesn't feel like I'm in a foreign country. Of course, I was around developed areas with tons of younger people (area around the hotel and shopping districts) and tourists. Also drove around inner circle near Forbidden City where the streets are ancient. That's where I would see many more older folks. Seriously, at the other higher-end areas, I only saw young people. Beijing has really grown up and gotten very capitalistic and superficial. There's no prudishness or caution by the young - they look like GenX, GenY at any other big city in terms of fashion and even public displays of affection (haha).
