HK Live!
HK Live! is a series of band showcase nights organized by Hong Kong's
leading city living magazine, HK Magazine. The shows feature the best
emerging and established bands of the Hong Kong music scene and a cast
of music personalities. This is a monthly exhibition of the emerging
trends of the Hong Kong music scene - and HK Magazine is playing the
role of curator. The aim is to turn the event into a hugely successful
phenomenon, and make it influential in nurturing and shaping the
direction of the live music scene in Hong Kong.
Three High-Energy Acts are performing this September 6, 2008:
The Dorques are a fun loving indie-pop band from
Manila. You can say their sound lies somewhere between Death Cab For
Cutie and architecture in Helsinki, with a few hip hop and French pop
influences. Catch the band play their funky bass lines, twinning
synth-driven guitar work and electronic melodies, which are all sure to
grab your attention.

DR.EGGS is more than a band; it's a concept. Joul, the
indisputable leader of the group, has been in over 350 shows and his
fellow members are ready to tear up the HK Live! stage with an
explosive set of hi-energy rock, infused with electronic music. Their
HK Live! appearance is part of an Asian tour that includes the
Philippines and China.
he Dorques started in 2005, when principal songwriter Joff thought it
was time to get his music out into the public after several years of
writing and dreaming of performing. They started with three band
members, and have gone through 5 personnel changes. And after 3 years
The Dorques are ready to release their first full length album.

One of Hong Kong's most talked about bands -
The Lovesong,
has made waves in the local music scene with their phenomenal live
performances and openings for such bands as the Nine Inch Nails at the
AsiaWorld-Expo. The four-piece drew inspiration from the American
punk/hardcore roots of their teenage years to create top-notch tunes
for an unforgettable HK Live! show.
